Dos Osos Golf Club
About
Dos Osos Golf Club(formerly known as Eagle Crest Golf Club) is routed through the scenic San Pasqual Valley. Its secluded location and challenging layout have made Dos Osos one of San Diego's best-kept secrets. The beautiful layout incorporates cascading waterfalls and eight lakes along with colorful wildflowers and rolling green hills. The diverse golf course is a shot maker's layout that is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It measures to a manageable 6,417 yards, but it still offers plenty of challenges. In addition to the water hazards, pristine white sand bunkers add a stark contrast to the lush greens. The golf course is narrow, especially on the front nine, which is tighter and has more tree-lined fairways. The bank nine opens up much more. Dos Osos Golf Club rewards accuracy and thoughtful strategy but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Unbelievable Improvment
Dos Osos has made an impressive transformation from its Eagle Crest days into a very enjoyable and well-maintained course. I played there yesterday with two friends, and having played it before, I can now confidently say it’s a course you can enjoy from tee to green.
The greens are smooth—comparable to many private clubs—and the clubhouse is welcoming and well-stocked with quality merchandise. The new carts with yardage displays are practical and among the best I’ve used.
Kudos to Head Pro Mike Skala and his staff for their great work. As an avid golfer, I highly recommend this course for its value and overall experience. Glad JC Golf took on the challenge and turned it around.
Not bad. Keeping making it better
From the locals I understand it used to be a complete dog track. Tee boxes are a mess and some rough fairway patches. Greens slow but healthy for sure. Think if they keep working on the overall quality it will be great.
Course conditions are improving
This course is in much better condition that 12
months ago. The course staff and JC management are finally making a comeback to a
Great layout. Keep it up.
Greens look like they were punched a few weeks ago so they were slow and bumpy.
Golf Now Deal
Course had just completed Maintenance on the greens, but is in much better shape than it used to be! No one else playing which was great so we were able to finish before dark.
Good round
Booked round. Site mentioned punched greens..thank you. Price was reduced I assume due to punched/sanded greens. (we used 2 putt rule)
Staff was very good. Still no range, just nets, but they've added more nets since last time I was here.
In general rest of course in good shape. Only a foursome in front of us. Which we jumped at the turn.
Finished round under 4 hours.
Overall a good experience and worth it
This was my second time playing Dos Osos and I enjoyed it a lot more than the first time. The fairways are in good shape and it's feels like it's kept as close to its natural elements as possible. The par 4s are short but require a precise tee shot. And the greens were in good shape.
Diamond in the rough
Beautiful layout, friendly staff and playable (although slow) greens.
Cart paths were pretty tough in pla es
Fairways were rough and in many places clean and place was required. Rough was generally over grown making ball location very difficult to find, and particularly with path only allowed for carts. (and course being a beast to walk)
All in all, glad we played, disappointed in condition and paths only. - but hey it's golf in February
Everything about the Course was a Nightmare.
I’ve played Dos Osos twice, and both times the pace of play has been BRUTAL. We tee’d off at 10:39 and were racing sunset by the end of the round. The tee times are spaced appropriately out, however it still gets ridiculously backed up. The Marshall drives around, but never does anything in order to improve pace of play. Additionally, it looks like all renovations on the course have come to a stop. I know the course used to be Eagle Glen, and they were working to improve it. However when I came here this time, it appeared as though that had made very little fixes. No driving range, greens are incredibly slow, pace of play is the worst I’ve seen. Spend your money elsewhere.
Poor condition
After we arrived, our playing partners mentioned that the course may have been recently purchased after a period of disrepair. I can’t confirm that, but if it’s true, it’s reasonable to expect some rough edges. What’s not reasonable is charging $80 greens fees for the current conditions.
This course has the potential to be lovely. It’s tight, interesting, and could be a real challenge. Unfortunately, the fairways and rough were in extremely poor shape, to the point that the course felt more like a pasture than a maintained golf course. We also didn’t see a single staff member working on course conditions during our round, which made the pricing even harder to justify.
It was a beautiful day and we did our best to enjoy it, but the value simply wasn’t there. To make matters worse, the greens had just been sanded, which further diminished the experience. At this price point, players should expect significantly better course conditions.
Great layout
Don’t waste your money
Tee boxes are a wreck
Fairways are the same as the rough , patchy , uncut , undefined .
Greens are shaggy and roll like an MX track .
And you’ll get to play a 5 hour round .
It is a very good layout that is in a nice place , too bad it’s in horrible shape and the locals won’t play ready golf or an appropriate tee box for their skill level.
Nor will they listen to the Marshall that spoke to them at least
4 times
Do yourself a favor , don’t waste your money .
Terrible pace of play
Had a tee time for 10:12am. Get there to check in and they tell us they overbooked our time slot and had to move us to 10:21. Not a big deal. We go tee off and by the 2nd hole there are 2 groups on the same tee box. By the 5th hole there was always 3 groups at the same time on the tee box. Finished 9 holes in 3:30 hours. Made the turn to go to num 10 and there are 4 groups waiting to tee off. We turned around and called it a day. There’s no ranger enforcing pace of play. Never been to a course where there were 4 groups on a tee box at the same time. Course is in fairly good shape aside from the tee boxes. Won’t be back strictly because of pace of play and no one monitoring it.
Best shape it’s been in since it first opened as Eagle Crest.
I played here often throughout the years and was sad to see it deteriorate. It’s obvious they are doing a lot to make it the beautiful course it should be.
