If you're sick of getting beat up and spit out by all the big-name, big-bite courses in the Palm Springs resort area paradise of La Quinta, Big Rock Golf & Pub at Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs could be the course for you.
This track provides a reprieve from the hacker battering. The design is pretty straight forward. Water only comes into play on two holes. The fairways are mostly flat.
Golfers can get into trouble in the desert areas bordering some holes, but as long as you're not too wild, the pain should be kept to a minimum. Big Rock Golf & Pub at Indian Springs is all about golf as a fun escape.
It's not a course that feels like it must make hackers prove something. The slope rating at this John Gurley Sr. design is 127 for men, 120 for women.

Great Golf Course
My second time playing here. It is not the most challenging course I've played but it did keep me on my toes at every turn.
Great Day at Indian Springs
I had a wonderful time playing Indian Springs yesterday. The pace of play was great, the course was in good shape and was fun to play. Staff went out of their way to accommodate me. I’ll definitely be back.
Great low-pressure golf environment
Super friendly staff from the starter to the on-course marshals and club cleaners. Came for an afternoon tee time on a weekday and everything was still operating and finished my round in 3hrs. Course layout is interesting, but they clearly did the best with the space allotted. The bar / grill attached to the clubhouse looked like a good time - will need to check that out next time!
Good Course to play
Indian Springs Big Rock is a fun course but the layout is a little disturbing. Having to cross vehicle traffic was a little issue, especially with the governors on the cart slowing us down as we crossed. I believe another tunnel or bridge slid be in the plans to make the transition easier. The course was fine, nothing above the norm in the area but definitely a course everyone should play at least once.
2nd timer with a lot of experience in Palm Desert
I’ve played this course prior with Indian Springs in the title. Range is nothing to write home about but you can get loose prior to the round. Layout is pretty good but overall the value is not there. For $100 there are many that I would rate better. However, getting a hot deal at $95 vs what Big Rock gets through the day it was ok. I would not pay the normal rate, Fairways and greens were in good shape and so were the bunkers.

Course was in good shape, only complaint was pace of play was a little slow.
