About
Junior National Golf Club (formerly known as Tres Rios Golf Course at Estrella Mountain Park and Estrella Mountain Golf Course) is rich with dense forestry including eucalyptus, mesquite, and pine trees as well as cottonwoods. The course has a parkland-style layout with rolling fairways lined with trees and undulating greens that are medium-sized and fast. To add more challenge to the golf course, water hazards and bunkers come into play on several holes. The par-4 seventh hole is considered the most difficult driving hole on the course. There are stately trees off the tee and the second shot is to a narrow sloping green. Junior National Golf Club features multiple tee boxes for a variety of different golfing options.

Where’s the flag
Pace of play is hit or miss. Today was a miss with a group playing 40 minutes behind pace and the Marshall not correcting it until hole 16. A lot of desert areas between the tee box and the fairway. Unless you’re hitting your driver straight as an arrow, the potential for your ball to end up on a different hole is pretty high. It’s an ok course if you are familiar with the course but if this is your first time, most holes don’t have markings, cart path is mostly dirt roads and if you’re behind a slow group prepare for a long day.
Do not book on Golf Now
I booked this course using a Hot Deal. The day of play I received an e-mail that the round was cancelled due to a system error. This was not the case. The course cancelled my reservation so that they could book a group of 4 during my reserved time. If contacted I would have been more than willing to move to another time. I will not be playing at this course in the future.
Good condition
Fairways and greens were great. Greens here are always great. Rough was a little discouraging, a public course should not have rough that you can literally not find a ball that you watch go into it just off the fairways. Course needs some work.
Would play again
Overall for the price, this course isn't too bad. There are quite a few juniors that walk this place, so the pace of play is a bit slow.
The bunkers, if raked/fluffed up, wouldn't be bad at all. The greens were a bit bumpy but not enough to really complain about.
It's a fun course with a ton of potential. We'll come back for sure!
Slow but Great Course
There are a lot o f walkers on this course, so it's a little slow. However, the course is a lot of fun with some challenging holes.
I'd recommend this course and we'll be back soon!
Golf
We showed up and were told the back 9 was closed…..yet they kept accepting 18hole tee times since the storm had happened. Disappointed. Will try to come back, like the course but greens were very furry. Next time I guess.
Amazing course, Great condition
Overall the course itself was great. If they could manage to put tee box’s up to help with directions, this course would be perfect.
Course in good shape
First time playing this course. Right now during the summer, the course is in pretty good condition. The tee boxes were good and mostly leveled. The fairway has very few bare areas, but if you miss the fairways, there's dirt areas around the course outside of the fairways. The greens are in good shape. Not too many golfers out there today, so the pace was not an issue.
Hidden Summer Gem?
Had a blast today. Perfect weather and course conditions for a holiday round. Hardly anyone on the course this afternoon and the course is in great shape overall. You can see the greens are recovering from a punch, but they were rolling pretty good overall.
