Azalea Sands Golf Course

This was the first course I ever played at the Beach over 45 yrs ago and it was a regular. Saw it go down hill over time and quit playing. Took my wife there while she learned to play, it was a good course for that. Never played there much after that. New management has made improvements and they appear to be taking. Course was on pretty good condition greens smooth and true though a little slow from the rain. We saw improvements in conditions from 2 yrs ago when we played. For us it's a nostalgia course not over run from packages and makes for a more relaxed and enjoyable round. Only draw back for us is there isn't a driving range. They do have some nets you can hit into. In cart GPS which is better than a high end course we played that had no GPS. We will continue to come back

Had a blast playing with guys from. HERSHEY PA, course plated fast. Couldn't score b/c no one could putt the greens. Ball stopped on every on track putt, if you hit it firm it rolled away from line and left 6 ft return putt. Frustrating.

Course is in good shape… green ran a bit slower than I expected… would definitely recommend it… will play it again.

With just a small amount of effort, this could be acceptable. Not bad for hitting shots but don't expect much from the greens. Nice price for practice round.

Great course for the value. Putting green closed due to lack of watering, per staff. The course was in ok shape but the greens were firm but real slow. Feel they should either lower the rates for the course and lack of driving range and this time putting green.

I made a reservation for 18 holes through GolfNow, but when we arrived we were told we could only play 9 holes. The course itself was very nice and in great condition, but we were still charged the full 18-hole price that was listed on the reservation.

I enjoyed my day at Azalea Sands. The staff were all attentive and friendly. The course is level with generous fairways, some sand and a few water hazards, although the water rarely seemed to come into play. I found the greens to be extremely slow, I had difficulty all day adjusting to the speed, but they were lush with very few bare spots. The pace was slow for the front 9 as we were behind some beginners.

Azalea Sands was the very first course I played when I first starting coming to Myrtle Beach almost 40 years ago. The new design was very player friendly. However I had back surgery and had not golfed but a very few times prior to this trip. I really needed to hit practice balls prior to playing and practice some putting,. There is no driving range just nets and mats to warm up on and the putting green was closed. Needless to say I I did my part in speeding up play by picking up after my 5 shot limit. I enjoyed the course and the staff was extremely friendly, treating you as if they were glad you chose Azalea Sands. I will return in September of this year. Next time please hold off the rain and lightening.

I’ve played this course several times now when visiting the area. Compared to other courses twice as expensive, it is an incredible value. Greens were a little slow, but nothing you can’t adjust to. Will be back.
