Kokopelli Golf Course

Koko was in decent shape. Looks like they are trying to get the course in better shape. The driving range is under construction but I like the concept they have for it. Staff was great. There was not cart girl on friday but they gave me healthy pours at the turn. Had a fun round of golf.

Unfortunately, the course was under heavy maintenance during my visit, and the entire back nine was closed. It would have been nice to know that before booking or to receive a more significant discount. The layout has potential, but the current conditions made for a disappointing experience. Hopefully the improvements pay off because the course has a lot of potential.

I forgot how difficult this track is with the undulating fairways and bunker placement greens were nice and seems like it is getting better

We were sent out on the back nine and it was soaked but it still played well. Greens were solid and quite frankly, the roll of the ball from the previous group was still seen in the dew which helped our reads! The front nine was dry so it ran more true. Greens were good for this time of year. For $36 at 604am it was a steal! We finished in 3.5 hours.

2 years ago I walked off the course swearing I would never return. But, I heard from a few people the course was making a come back. I have always liked the challenging lay out so I tried the course again and was happy with the improvements. The greens even though a little bumpy were very receptive, holding shots and looking very nice. There was a lot more grass on the fairways with very little bare spots. The bunkers were all playable now, with the sand consistent through out the course. Hole 6, par 5, is still almost unplayable with not enough landing area on the 2nd shot but the course said they are looking to fix it. Most of the smaller lakes are now drained and not sure what they are planning on those but oh well. Over all, the course has made great improvements, not quite all the way back but good enough for me to want to come back --especially for the price. This is not a course for beginners though as the course layout is challenging. Good job Kokopelli !!!

Haven't played there in years, so I was pleasantly surprised at the condition it was in, in the middle of the AZ summer.

Overall good value at $30, and it was nice to have a 5:45 tee time for obvious reasons. Only big criticism would be the mud. This course is always muddy every time I play here.(coupla times /year)

Absolute pleasure to play this course. In good shape super fun layout. Plus the starter guy was awesome. What a great experience.

Only one hole was properly maintained (18th hole). The rest were in horrible shape. Multiple holes had tons of old range balls all over it. Just not what it used to be

This course in bad shape,very wet and muddy while most holes cart path only!! Pass

I have no problem with the pace of play. It’s actually the opposite. A few of my friends and I played on Saturday at a very brief pace. Nobody in front, nobody behind… until hole 3. Then we see a group behind us — 2 men sharing a cart with their wives or girlfriends who weren’t even playing. The pace was normal once they caught up to us (we’d be leaving the green as soon as they stepped on the tee box). Not 3 holes later, the ranger drove up to our group saying to pick up our pace of play as people were waiting long times on tee boxes. We said sure. At that point we were teeing off on hole 7 and on pace to finish 9 hole in under 2 hours. Absolutely unacceptable by staff (or group behind who lied about pace) to mention that to our playing group. Finished 18 in under 4 hours and the group behind us even stopped playing after 9. Terrible golf experience always feeling like you’re holding up the groups behind you (which we were not doing, but were accused of). I will never play at this course again in my life.

Anyone that has played this course knows… always fun. Course looks better than ever and staff is top notice. Nick, Justin, Emma, Joe, Kendall ⛳️🎉

Course is in better condition than the last time we played at this location. However, there are several fairways that have no grass. The surface in the affected areas was smooth mud or silt. Not great for hitting off.

On a second note, the golf carts are beat up and in need of replacement. The greens fee is higher than they should be for the current overall condition.

It has been 2 years since we played this course. Much has improved in regard to the overall experience. I would note that a challenge remains with the golf course. Several of the fairways still have dirt covered fairway spots. Hopefully, this will be cured before the heat and sun of the summer hits us.
