McCormick Ranch Golf Club features two lush manicured year-round courses amid the lovely views of Scottsdale. Both the Palm and Pine golf courses' championship tees lay to over 7,000 yards, and there are also the options of men's, seniors' and ladies' tee sets to allow everyone a crack at the tests offered by these golf courses.

Golf Illustrated selected the ninth hole of the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club to be "One of the USA's Top 18 Water Holes." It's just one of 10 water holes on the golf course, which, as you might imagine, also features lots of big palms. In all, the golf course plays to over yards from the blue tees, including four par-5 holes that measure over 500 yards.

A round of golf on the Palm Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club kicks off on the par-4 first hole, which plays close to 400 yards from the blue tee and requires a drive right-center to ensure a short-iron second shot.

Played the Palm course. The greens are in nice condition. It's a challenging course with a bunker or two around the greens. The fairways were okay for the time of year--better than most other courses. It was nice to get range balls included with the price of golf.

Dissapointed in everyway

They've done a ton of work, which is still happening. The holes where the work has been completed are in terrible shape. Standing water in bunkers, good portion of the greens have large dead spots. Don't play during the week in the afternoon, only one 9 will be open so you'll just have to play that twice to get 18 in. There is no value here. Don't make a teatime unless you actually talk to somebody in the clubhouse because they have a scheduling service that has no idea what course is open. We've been playing this golf course for over 40 years, it's hard to watch it fade.

The course was not in the best shape

The front 9 of the Palm course was in good shape with well manicured greens and decent fairways. The cart path was atrocious! Full of pot holes and cracks. The greens on the back 9 had large areas of dirt or dying grass. The cart paths were even worse and driving on the fairway was almost as rough.

Scottsdale Golf

This is a classic gem of a course located in the heart of Scottsdale. Whenever it’s a special occasion or my family wants to play — this is overall a great spot! Courteous staff, good locale, medium level of difficulty, beautiful wildlife in the eagles and prettiest sunset.

Memorial Day Pine front and Palm front

Just had fun after not playing and practicing for 2-3 weeks. Bermuda is coming in even without consistent 100 degree weather. Got paired with 3 randoms and I had a blast. I shot two under par. Just had fun worked on my game and enjoyed the summer day! About 95 degrees and a little breeze. Course is not in bad shape to start the summer season. Greens are maybe a 10. Just a tad slow but they will be rolling faster soon with time.

Do not play McCormick Ranch

This course is in such poor condition I felt like an idiot for falling for their scam. You’re a complete sucker if you play their back nines and they do nothing about the complaints. The customer service is very poor. Mud balls, casual water and mud everywhere. Many of the greens are diseased. But hey, here’s two positives: the few greens that were not diseased were fun to putt. Cart girl was absolute smoke show!!! I felt bad for her having to work in such poor conditions. This course is a mid tier muni at best. I can’t reiterate how poor the customer service was addressing my dissatisfaction. Do Not play this course!!! It is also deliberately unclear when you reserve your tee time if you are reserving the front nines or back nines. I thought I was reserving the fronts…I think it’s deliberately vague.

Place is still a swamp

Still water in bunkers and water puddles that swallow your golf ball all over the course. Plus it was advertised as the Palm course, but noooo, the starter told me that what I got thru golf now was the back nine on the Palms and the back nine on the Pine course. These are two completely separate coursed! This is almost criminal. Never ever will I step foot on those swampy grounds

Waste of time and money

The course is in awful condition. I have not played a course in worse condition and I have played some terrible courses. The fairways are crab grass, where it isn't dirt. The greens are diseased and unplayable. There was group of 5 in front of us, with multiple children taking 20+ swings per hole. I'm all for kids playing and having fun, but the rangers should have discussed pace of play with the adults in the group. We left after 9 holes, complete waste of time and money.

Needs work

Greens were mostly in bad shape. Standing water in a lot of the traps and other places. Lots of areas under repair. Course for sure needs work but if you want to go out and play a fast round with little notice this course would be a good choice.

very bad hard bunkers, dead spots on greens, dried out fairways

This course was in very bad conditions. The worst hard packed bunkers with no sand, dead spots on most greens, and dried out dead fairways hitting off dirt. Nice staff, nice layout. Its a shame this course has gotten worse over the years.
