West/South at Fernandina Beach Golf Club

No a bad course. Greens used to be amazing but they have gone way downhill. Lots of sandy spots on the greens

I played the North-South layout on my most recent round and found the conditions ok. Unfortunately, the course(s) need some work on the greens and many fairways and tee boxes. It’s a fun municipal course but don’t expect pristine conditions at the moment..

I have been playing this course infrequently during the past 10 years. The conditions yesterday were the best I have experienced to date. Kudos to the course superintendent and his staff for bringing this course back to great conditions.

Great shape. Friendly for beginners. Pace of play was great.

Greens are good few patches being worked on.

Fairways are good. Pace was awesome. Staff very friendly. Greens are small ,green complexes are well manicured.

Not busy in the early afternoon and in great shape.

The course is a good track to play- West to South. The so-called back nine (South Course) needs a little TLC and a lot of short tight holes. I believe the South could use some reshaping like removing some strategic trees to ease some of the challenge but not take away from the challenge. This could keep a steady speed of play because not every foursome is hitting a second ball or looking for balls all the time. But, overall I recommend playing here.

Weather was hot, course was in good shape, greens in good shape, pro shop well stocked and, people were very pleasant. Overall a very nice expieriance.

The course was in pretty good shape considering how dry and hot it has been. . I expected the course to be in rough shape but to my surprise it was in good condition. Great value !!

I play this course every time we vacation at Fernandina Beach.(8 years ). I used to call it a cow pasture but last two years has much improved.It still has issues but evident that they are making an effort to improve the conditions. It’s way better than past years.Thank you for the new vision and effort to make it better course.

Greens were punched, no one ever said that, the pace of play was horrid. A foursome wouldn’t pick up pace and had 4 groups waiting behind them and the ranger just drove around and never said anything to them. Spent more time waiting than playing the course. The grass had just been cut but before that it hadn’t been mowed in awhile so there was a good chance to lose it in the fairway. All in all. Really disappointed. I won’t be back anytime soon.

I gave a 4 Star Overall Rating and Course Rating mainly because the greens have been freshly aerated. Otherwise the course is in really good shape. I would and have recommended this course.

Great layout and friendly staff. Greens were in ok shape rolled very very very slow today. Looks like they were punched within the last few weeks had lots of sand left. Other than that great course is pretty shaded for the heat. Can’t beat the value for the area

Good course, pace of play is slow. No marshalls controlling the course. Greens were a little bit burnt due to the heat.
