North/West at Fernandina Beach Golf Club
About
Fernandina Beach Golf Club is home to three distinct nines, the North, South, and West that make up three different 18-hole combinations. This 27-hole facility boasts a unique configuration on each of the nines for a truly diverse golfing experience. The North/West course at Fernandina Beach Golf Club combines the longest nine, the West, and the shortest nine, the North. The North nine features undulating greens and water hazards but the generous, wide-open fairways of the West nine make the golf course accessible to players of all skill levels. Native foliage in addition to towering oaks and pines throughout the course allow for a scenic escape in addition to an excellent round.

Outstanding layout
This course was an absolute delight to play. It offered a perfect balance of openness and challenge, complemented by breathtaking natural scenery. I’m definitely going to play this course again.
Unposted rules and grumpy players
Got there early to hit the range.. asked where to park the golf cart and was pointed to a building with minimal parking. Afterwards, I drove up to the putting green. As most, you can park near the green. It was brought to my attention I couldnt park near it by a very grouchy starter. Maybe next time put something up to say where cart parking should be and I was still on the path not on any grass. So, I went up to begin my round after confirming doing West and South by both the office and starter. At the first T, a couple guys came up and I thought they were joining me. Come to find out after being berated with some expletives, I was put in front of a 50 person event. Told the guy to take it up with the office. I did have two persons join me and we moved along pretty quickly only to catch up with several slow players ahead of us. After about 5 holes, Mr Grump behind us drove past and apparently stopped playing. Aside from the jerks I had to deal with, the course was in fair shape. A little pricy for the condition of the course.
Best around
For the price point, this is the best muni around. I love this course and have played it many times. Staff is great, driving range is great, course rocks.
Worth a try
Green and traps were consistent and very playable. The fairways and tees need to improve.( Unfortunately we were behind 3 young guys trying to match the beer count with the hole count. As a result play was slow. This is not the fault of the course. )
Ok golf, but pricey
With public golf options becoming more limited on Amelia, the course has apparently upped its fees. The fees no longer justify the experience. Everything is pretty average for a municipal course, making the $80 greens fee pretty steep.pace of play was great, as the course was far from full, even though the weather was wonderful. There’s a message there. It’s less expensive to travel inland just a bit, and to courses are better.
Fernandina Beach
Nice muni. Pace was a little slow. Gold tees don't get much so some holes were pretty long. I'll play it with Golf Now or Tee Off hot deals but not full price.
Easy value
We winter close to the course, so it’s an easy decision to play there. Like all the courses in this area that are not very premium priced or totally private, the grass is dormant and brown. If you can’t get past that, you’ll need to be significantly south or pay very high greens fees. Played north and south nines. They are very different in character. North is typical muni. South is a former private course, so it has more interesting features. Both have large greens in very good condition.
