North/West at Fernandina Beach Golf Club
About
Fernandina Beach Golf Club is home to three distinct nines, the North, South, and West that make up three different 18-hole combinations. This 27-hole facility boasts a unique configuration on each of the nines for a truly diverse golfing experience. The North/West course at Fernandina Beach Golf Club combines the longest nine, the West, and the shortest nine, the North. The North nine features undulating greens and water hazards but the generous, wide-open fairways of the West nine make the golf course accessible to players of all skill levels. Native foliage in addition to towering oaks and pines throughout the course allow for a scenic escape in addition to an excellent round.

Golfer Reviews
Greens punched
Greens were punched, no one ever said that, the pace of play was horrid. A foursome wouldn’t pick up pace and had 4 groups waiting behind them and the ranger just drove around and never said anything to them. Spent more time waiting than playing the course. The grass had just been cut but before that it hadn’t been mowed in awhile so there was a good chance to lose it in the fairway. All in all. Really disappointed. I won’t be back anytime soon.
My overall
I gave a 4 Star Overall Rating and Course Rating mainly because the greens have been freshly aerated. Otherwise the course is in really good shape. I would and have recommended this course.
Great course overall
Great layout and friendly staff. Greens were in ok shape rolled very very very slow today. Looks like they were punched within the last few weeks had lots of sand left. Other than that great course is pretty shaded for the heat. Can’t beat the value for the area
Next time
Course is in pretty good shape. Greens are nice but slightly slow due to the heat. Look forward to cooler weather for a little faster green's. Still think the cost should be about ten dollars less.
In great shape!
Great course to play. In great shape. Greens rolled true. A little slow but not hairy. They were in good shape. There were a few that had some burnt edges but overall not bad. Fairways were lush and perfect. Could stand to be just a little lower cut for more rollout but I also get it given the Florida heat in July. Ended up playing alone as no one was on my tee time. Played front nine in 1 hr 15min. And back in just under two hrs. Played West and South nines. Always love playing here. Worth the 40 min drive up from Jax.
Good times
Much improved course. 2023 til now is night and day. Few rough looking tee boxes ( didnt hinder anything), other than that the course was in great shape. Fairways and greens are in great condition..I played the west and south courses. Amenity wise ..not having water on a course in Florida is diabolical. Maybe it s for legal reasons. I still enjoyed playing there. Plenty of shade to hideout in.
Enjoyable Round of Golf
The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. It has three 9 hole couses which gives you different options. I played the West/North 18 holes which was in good condition with undulating greens. It has plenty of tee boxes to fit your age or ability. I really enjoyed my round and will play it again.
Junior rate for 18 holes.
All was good but the rate for my 13 year old grandson to play 18. 42.00 dollars for a junior golfer on a municipal course? Ridiculous. If you are going to grow the game through youth it must remain accessible.I paid less than him on Golfnow.
Nice Course….except!
Played N & S courses, greens and fairways in great condition. I know they’ve been working hard to get the courses back in good shape. My only complaint and next are to work in are the cart paths. ATROCIOUS PATHS! Other than that, I’d play again, only this time making sure to ask for the Seniors Rate. It was fun and somewhat forgiving! Great Old Florida feel!
Great course
I had a 2:30 tee time but the course was not very busy so I was able to start early. This coursr has nice wide fairways and it's great for all skill levels. It very nice course, well kept and friendly staff.
A few suggestions
I have played all 3 nines, and they all have their challenges from narrow, short and long, and wide-open. This a fun municipal course but the cost is a bit high for me to play here on a regular basis. The other issue I think could be improved is the course / pro shop opening time. I have had tee times at 0707 and 0715 arrived "early" like 0630 and pro-shop was closed and did not open until 0650. I have played golf for nearly 60 years, and I have never experienced a pro-shop opening this late with a 0700-start time.
But outside of these suggestions I was pleased with the course conditions, pace of play and staff. I would and have recommended this course to friends.
Great round
My tee-time was at 12:30. I had to wait maybe 10 minutes on a twosome to get to the green. I teed off and there was a twosome behind me. The pace was great throughout the entire round. No stalling at all. Very peaceful round, the course looked great.
