North/West at Fernandina Beach Golf Club
About
Fernandina Beach Golf Club is home to three distinct nines, the North, South, and West that make up three different 18-hole combinations. This 27-hole facility boasts a unique configuration on each of the nines for a truly diverse golfing experience. The North/West course at Fernandina Beach Golf Club combines the longest nine, the West, and the shortest nine, the North. The North nine features undulating greens and water hazards but the generous, wide-open fairways of the West nine make the golf course accessible to players of all skill levels. Native foliage in addition to towering oaks and pines throughout the course allow for a scenic escape in addition to an excellent round.

Fernandina Beach
Nice muni. Pace was a little slow. Gold tees don't get much so some holes were pretty long. I'll play it with Golf Now or Tee Off hot deals but not full price.
Easy value
We winter close to the course, so it’s an easy decision to play there. Like all the courses in this area that are not very premium priced or totally private, the grass is dormant and brown. If you can’t get past that, you’ll need to be significantly south or pay very high greens fees. Played north and south nines. They are very different in character. North is typical muni. South is a former private course, so it has more interesting features. Both have large greens in very good condition.
Sunday golf
Many improvements since last year’s playing. Friendly and helpful staff. Very enjoyable course.
Winter golf
Course was in good shape, especially the greens. Winter golf, so dormant. But still quality.
Improving
We snowbird near by, so we play here a few times each winter. This was the first time this season. The course is much improved over two years ago, and measurable better than last winter. The green are smooth and consistent, the traps now have raked sand, signage is better….and the fairways are improving. They have grass in most areas. No more pure dirt spaces. However, the quality of the grass still needs significant improvement. It’s hard work, and I would guess costly, but needs to be done.
A great surprise!
We drove up to play FBGC and were wowed! Greens were fast, true and fun! Fairways were very good! Bunkers didn’t look gorgeous but the playability was amazing and they were consistent. The layout was fun, had some length, some tight shots, some wide open tee shots. Afterwards we went and ate! Cleanest kitchen I have ever seen. I was in the restrained for over 15 years. Food was great, staff was wonderful, helpful, and delightful! We booked two tournaments there for our Amateur Tour’s upcoming Season. As a former professional you can’t ask more of a mini! A definite must play.
Great course to play
The course was in good condition. Some tight fairways. But a good course for the price.
Staff was rude
I would not recommend. Worst experience we have had at any course
Pleasantly Surprised
Courses were in great shape. There are 3 9 hole courses and they each provide their own challenges. The rough is a little thick and grabs your club. Hit em straight and all is good. Greens nice but a little slow. Pace was great 3 to 3-1/2 hours to play. Great staff. Will definitely play again next time in town.
Good Muni
I enjoy playing FBGC It’s well kept and long but fair.
Surprised
Have not played the course in quite a while was very surprised and the course conditions is in pretty good shape😉
