Bent Creek Golf Course
About
Since the opening of Bent Creek Golf Course in 1989, the 6,420-yard, par-71 course has provided a challenging golf experience for residents of Northeast Florida and visitors alike.
Crafted by renowned architect Bobby Weed with consulting services by Mark McCumber, Bent Creek's meandering terrain takes golfers through a certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary, towering pines and alongside creeks and swales. The championship layout boasts Bermuda grass greens, plush fairways and a state-of-the-art lighted practice facility - home of the Bent Creek Golf Academy.
From the back tees, Bent Creek carries a rating of 71.6 and a slope of 136. The challenge starts with the first hole, which measures 538 yards from the gold tees, just 20 yards short of No. 15, the longest hole on the golf course.

One of the best.
This course is in good shape. Greens are almost recovered after puncturing but fair. Really, one of the better public courses in Florida. I played as single, early in the morning, passed 2some and foursome. Done in 2 h20 min.
I really had a great time- weather was amazing, no wind, not too many mosquitoes( but bring some spray).-Go play!
Best Course in Jax for the Money
Bent creek is the best course in Jax for the value in my opinion. They had just punched the greens a few weeks before but the tee time was discounted for it which I respect a lot. Even with the punching the greens were actually rolling pretty pure and in a couple weeks they will most likely be in great condition rolling fast and true. The layout of the course itself can be challenging, especially if it is your first time playing. I have played here many times and have never called the kitchen ahead of time to get any food. This time I called ahead and got one of the best chili dogs I have had in a long time. The staff is always super chill and never up tight if you are a tad behind, and they have an awesome practice facility with a few different greens.
Under maintenance
The last thing a golfer wants to see is a sign stating half the course is closed for punching and sanding after you already paid. The back nine was being played twice and it was freshly punched and sanded. Horrible day.
Great little public course
Staff, extremely attentive with a sense of urgency found at fine resorts.
Practice amenities quite accommodating for all aspects of the game. Driving range grass! Practice chipping green complete with sand trap and putting green quite large with both down hill and uphill putts equally represented.
Course very good shape for a public course.
Layout lends itself to a fun while still challenging for all levels of players
Loved my round!
Course was in decent shape. Not very long, 6200 from the tips. Par 3’s from the tips were long, however. Greens rolled well.
Can't go wrong
Can't ever complain about Bent Creek. Challenging course, great condition, and fast greens what else could you ask for?
Great round
Great round for the online price couldn't pass up. Greens were running fast but true, overall great experience. Will be back
Fun track
Driving from NJ to Tampa. I wanted a course along my route. I was able to snag an early time. Proshop staff were super friendly and gave me some much needed advice about the course. I went out as a single. The foursome in front of me let me play through on the first hole. I was able to stretch my legs and finish the round just over 3 hours. I will definitely put this on my list of I am back on the area.
Good day to play golf slow pace
Everything good but the pace of play had a threesome with two kids held up the golf course for nine hole
Better then it was
We are in a drought here in North Florida, so the water hazards are not as foreboding, which does take away from the look of the course. The tee boxes were a little beat up, but compared to other courses in town, I would say they all are right now. The fairways were in good condition, and the greens were in great condition. They weren’t super fast, but they rolled true and fast enough.
Slow play and lack of course rangers
We have been playing this course for over a dozen years. And over the last for 5 months we have encountered such slow play that it is it makes the outing very bad. We have had to wait at t-boxes for people who are not playing ready golf. And there is no rangers on the course to help those people who are doing slow play to not delay others.
Nice Course
Great value for the money. Greens had sand on them but rolled pure. Tee boxes could use some attention but overall they were fine. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
I would recommend this to anyone.
