About
At Red Rock Country Club, Arnold Palmer has created an escape from desert golf with a lush green course that forces golfers to think over their shots. As you're thinking, a waterfall could be crashing in the background. There are actually two Palmer courses here, but only The Arroyo is open for public play.
It measures in at 6,883 yards from the back tees and uses dramatic bunkering to set off its holes. The par 4s are particularly inventive, especially the 432-yard 4th. The par-3 seventh gives you great views of The Strip in the distance. The greens consistently run 10-11 on the Stimpmeter and the fairways are designed to funnel shots that are not overly wild back into decent lies.
"The Arroyo Course is what it is -- a playable course with stunning scenery and a smattering of decent golf holes," former TravelGolf.com writer Shane Sharp said. "It won't provide as memorable a round as Sin City's big-name resort courses, but the price is relative. If you're looking for a course to include in your annual Vegas rotation, Arroyo would be a nice addition, considering its conditioning and scenery."

Golfer Reviews
Rough Needs to be Cut
First let me start off by saying that the staff is one of the best I've encountered in a long time anywhere. Second. The pace was 5 hours which is not good for a Monday. What caused this delay was 1) Cart Path only (Not the course management fault as there was a storm the previous couple days. 2) This is where my complaint comes in. The rough was extremely high and needs to be cut down. I'm a 9 hcp and lost 5 balls in the rough and the groups ahead also spent a lot of time looking for balls. Its not that the rough was way off the fairway but just a little off the fairway. And also lost balls in the rough where it was right in front of the green. The rough was so tall your ball sunk so far down we could not find most of the balls. But really our round would have taken 5.5 hours, but we were told that by teeing off at hole 7 (Par 3) first it saves 30 minutes.
Extremely Slow Play
Should look at adding course Marshall to keep groups moving. We spent 5.5 hours to play 14 of 18 holes. Could even complete our round due to slow players conversing rather than playing. Some management on the course would speed things up.
Need more fresh water
The course had very few water stations on the tee boxes
Expect Better
For $188, I expected better conditions, better service, and a better overall experience.
The range was closed for a car show and we weren't notified until check in. No discount or apology was offered.
The course design was excellent, being an Arnold Palmer signature course.
If I had to do it over again, I would have chosen a different Vegas course. Save your money.
Fast Play - Punched Greens
I think the pace was very fast due to the punched greens, however the greens still rolled pretty good, tee boxes and fairways were grown out a little but still playable. Always like this track.
Maintenance
Course was under maintenance. I will come back next trip.
The cost was a bit high knowing the greens would be aerated. I have visited other courses that offered a logo ball mark or divot tool as a gesture.
If you just moved to town, better have you Nevada license before playing
Writing this to clear it up for anyone else that might find themselves in the situation I was found in. I was born and raised here in Vegas, left for graduate school and then just moved back last month. Hadn’t gotten my Nevada license yet since moving back but when I called the Red rock club number the lady on the phone said “that’s okay, just bring any form with your name and a local address in it”. I did just that, but the second I went to pull out my lease and power bill, the curly haired dude in the pro shop with glasses in his 60s or 70s immediately told me no. I explained the situation about how I was actually told this was okay and his response was “I’m telling you that doesn’t matter what she said, she’s working overseas at a different location”. Well that’s fine, i get you have to follow your rules since you’re just a dude working behind a desk in a pro shop, but if one person that represents your business tells me one thing it’d be nice if you honor it. Honestly the dude at the pro shop was a jerk and he was loaded and ready with responses so I’m sure he’s had this argument before.
Overall i loved My round, played great, conditions were great, every other staff member was cool. Finished in under 4 hours. Could care less about the curly haired jerk in the pro shop and I guess I’ll make sure i have my drivers license before i come back!
Bad luck
Not sure what happened to this course, not the course I remembered. Stay away for awhile seems like there having some trouble with the fairway fungus. Entire course was saturated with so much water? Maybe drainage problems?
Great Condition
The course is in great shape. The greens were smooth and had good pace for summer play. The par 3’s are a beast from the black tees. Would highly recommend playing here. Great track!
Slow, very deep rough
Very slow. 6 cart backup on hole 2. Horribly slow from there. The rough is very deep. You must be very accurate or your in 6 inch rough that hides your ball. Nice course even if it is extremely laid out. You cannot walk it, especially in the heat.
The staff was great...super helpful. Practice area was good and well maintained. The practice putting green was a good reflection of the speed of the greens on the course, which, overall were a bit on the slow side. Possibly they are letting them grow a bit longer to help fight the Summer heat. But aside from that, they were possibly the best greens I have played this year. The course was in great condition. but the layout was unmemorable. Nonetheless, it was a good and fair challenge. The biggest challenge was the 3-4 club wind. Unlike the wide fairways of resort or 55+ courses, these fairways mostly required one to be accurate off the tee if you hope to hit a fairway. As a first time player, that was a bit challenging due to the numerous blind tee shots. So it was largely hit it and hope. Pace of play was 3 hours at 2pm on a Sunday.
Very enjoyable round of golf
Overall the course is in very good shape. Excellent fairways. Good greens. Roll true. Bunkers overall could use some additional work.
