Horrible pace of play
First time I’ve ever walked off a course. Let’s start with the conditions, the tee boxes were pretty bad. But the greens and fairways were in nice shape. Bunkers need some TLC, as several had very little sand in them, and you could actually see the liners in the bunker. Many of the driving range balls are so worn they don’t fly properly. Even still, those things are not deal breakers.
The pace of play was incredibly slow, we saw a marshal several times, only once did he talk to us - he merely said it’s really slow and likely to get worse. So the constant badgering from the GPS indicating we were behind, when we had 3 groups on a par 3, was adding insult to injury. We finally quit, as holes 11 & 12 took 45 minutes to play. This put us at 3 hrs and 15 minutes to play 12 holes, on pace to be a six-hour round. We are in Vegas and had show tickets, no way we thought it’d take six hours to get a round in. Slow golf happens, I get it, but the staff seemed indifferent about it.
Group of “Baller’z” golfing association!
I am a frequent golfer who plays about three times a week, and lives in the Atlanta Ga., area. I organized a group of about 60 players to come and visit Angel Parks Palm course in the Las Vegas area. I can honestly say that the golf course, staff, and entire facility was in immaculate condition! My contact person “Sam” treated our group like royalty, and assured me of a well running operation for that day. Also, the course had just experienced aeration of the greens about 3 weeks prior to our arrival and the course was in unbelievably awesome condition! The restaurant staff were absolutely amazing and the food was very good! Do yourself a favor and put Angel Park on your bucket list if you’re in the Las Vegas area anytime soon. It was such a wonderful experience for my guys, that they are looking forward to coming back next year! Great job Angel Park Golf Club!
Nice course close to strip
Great time, nice course. Little pricey at $160 non residents. No veteran discount either!
Check It Out
Played the Palm Course which is their “short course”. Course was in excellent condition! Greens had a “little” sand remaining. Our pace of play was outstanding. Finished in 3-hours 40-minutes. Definitely worth playing here!
Shelley's Review
We had a mix of women golfer's 2 pretty experienced, 1 fair and the other had never played. We had the Best time. From the moment we checked in, the staff was Awesome. Took care of us like royalty. then we stayed and had lunch. it was delicious. We will be coming again.
Paid tourist fees for punched greens
I should've known that the greens would be punched when I was able to get a non-resident tee time before 10am the same day. I paid $126 to ride for a course I pay $45 for back home. The greens weren't freshly punched, but they were in poor enough condition to affect longer putts and the ball just died away from the hole most of the time. Some of the sand traps had rocks in them and the sand was a bit packed down. Tough to hit out of, added a few extra greenside strokes to go with the putting woes. I have played here before when the course was in better shape and more worth the money. Not this time. The ball machine at the driving range wasn't working, either. I know the staff were on it right away, but my window to warm up was compromised. Just one of those days. Can't blame the staff, but I take issue with being over-charged for punched greens. It's called a greens fee, not greens with brown holes and sand fee. Nice clubhouse and service, just not up to par with conditions.
The whole experience was Fabulous!
From the moment we checked in our day was perfect. the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Bobby at the cart checkout was awesome. Such a wonderful guy.
Monday routine
I always enjoy playing this course more and more. I live in Henderson, but it’s worth the drive. Had two great partners Keith and Ryland perfect day. Overcast little breeze can’t ask for anything better.
