Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
About
Nestled at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, Indian Canyons Golf Resort offers two championship courses with stunning views. The two golf courses, North and South, have completely different layouts but they are both sheltered from the wind thanks to the surrounding mountains. The South Course is the shorter of the two, making it the more player-friendly course. That is not to say it is not a challenge though. The rolling fairways are framed by contoured mounding and four expansive lakes come into play on six holes. The par 5s are particularly memorable. There are also well over 1,300 palm trees throughout the golf course, which includes hundreds of Washingtonia filifera palms. These trees are native to the Agua Caliente Tribe and an important part of their history.

Golfer Reviews
Fantastic course
This was my first time playing the South Course. Front 9 was unfortunately closed so we were all playing the back 9 twice. Greens were a little long and slow but the fairways were in good shape. Honestly really good shape for this time of summer! The staff was extremely nice! I can’t wait to come back and check out this course in the on season when all 18 holes are open! I can tell it will be pristine then.
Nice course bad music
The course itself was in good shape, its an interesting layout. Staff were welcoming. The only drawback was the amount of music being blasted out by various groups on the course. No convening with Mother Nature, instead you’re forced into listening to terrible music. I saw a player in a tank top fall out of his golf cart whilst travelling at speed! They should be careful, real golfers may not want to put up with these distractions.
Indian Canyon Golf Course
First time playing this course, staffs were nice and helpful, course in good condition but greens were little bit dry and slow due to summer hot weather. Overall the course was nice, I enjoyed playing empty course with very few players around
Very nice Golf Facility
The south course was in great shape from tee to green. The range, practice areas were great. A must play.
Best course for this golf trip
My best course on this vacation for summer golf in Palm springs
Great course for first time playing!
First time at this course with the fellas. Course is in great shape! Although a bit hot, our group had a great time. Greens and course in great shape for how hot it has been. Staff was great and super friendly. We will be back!
Indian Canyon is Solid Even in Summer
Enjoyed my round at the Indian Canyon South course. In decent shape for the summer. It's a nice trek with some fun scenic holes. The Par 3 15th is unique in that it sits all by itself. Some tough par 3's. Bunkers are excellent. GPS on carts. Lots of water available. Staff very pleasant especially the starter. No rattlesnakes this time!
Beautiful and very playable explanation
Really enjoyed this golf course. I golfed 4 other courses last week and this one is my overall favorite. It’s just very open, beautiful backdrop, scenery, friendly staff, and mostly extremely playable.
1st timer
what a great overall exp. from the time we unloaded the clubs to the guy cleaning the clubs, course was in great shape tee to greens. played the south course , will be back to try the north soon.
Great Course As Always
Challenging layout and always in top condition. No summer burn-out of fairways and greens were nice speed and in great shape. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great Course, beware of GPS carts
Course was in excellent condition and is in a beautiful setting. The only thing that slowed our play were the GPS carts that creep at 1/2 mph when within 10 ft of cart path. I had to use reverse in several instances to back into fairway to return to the cart path rather than crawl forward 15 ft to the cart path. We could have played much faster without GPS delayed carts.
Very well maintained course
Everything about this course was phenomenal. The staff was very friendly, very clean, customer service was great. The course fairways were in great condition. The greens were very well maintained. I have zero complaints and would definitely recommend.
One of the best in the desert
The South course has one of the most unique and enjoyable layouts. It has 5 par 5’s, 5 par 3’s and 8 par 4’s. It is always in great shape with sand in all the bunkers. Greens are bermuda, so reading the breaks can be a little difficult. It is a must play every year for me.
We love this course. And your Starter is a Hoot!! HE is always so fun and pleasant. He accommodated us with an earlier start since a group had canceled in front of us.
We had a great time and played with some great guys!
Average
Course was in decent shape. Rough and fairways had some dry spots but played well. Green were slower than most and were a little bumpy.
