Stonewall Golf Club at Lake Manassas

Tough day here today. Staff was very friendly. Started off the day going out as a 2som because 2 cancelled at 9:10. No Starter. Immediately backed up. 2-hour 40 min front nine. the ranger did eventually help us out on the back nine, but we had to skip a whole and not play through the slow group (not ideal). For context we had 2 4somes stack up behind us to the point we were chatting with them for around 4 holes before the back nine.

The price is very obviously paying for incredible real estate along a beautiful lake. 3-4 holes give you an incredible view. A few others are very pretty holes as well.

However, the course is not well kept. To give them credit it stormed 2 days ago and maybe rained yesterday. However, the greens were slow and a little bumpy, fairways cut really high (possible because of it being too wet for machinery), and the bunkers, well the bunkers were either pools where if your ball went in it was too murky to find it OR all of the sand washed away from the higher edges completely. This didn't seem like a today / storm thing (bunkers).

I would play here again because the course design is really cool BUT 160 is outrageous for the golf you play here so I will not be returning.

Really nice track along the river with some amazing riverside views. Staff were friendly (bev cart attendant must have been having a bad day, super unfriendly when I greeted with a basic “Hello, how are you?”. Waited 5-10 mins on most shots due to a painfully slow 4 ball (American golfers need to learn the concept of allowing faster golfers to play through) All in all a nice course that I spent around 90 mins too long on. Course ranger was an excellent chap and a great hang on those long waits!

The course was in good shape and the people working there were incredibly nice. Check-in was quick and easy.

One odd thing is we did not see any water on the course. I find that odd and I think they ought to tell people. We were well prepared so it didn’t affect us.

I would play this course again.

one of my fav north VA courses. note course has hard time with heavy rains/drainage--driving range was closed, and parts of course still flooded from rain previous day (sand traps in rough shape too). This is no ding on staff--was heavy rain for extended period. greens in quality shape. rough was ROUGH--first cut is pretty thick in August 2026

Why must we endure 4:45 rounds on a Thursday morning? And that’s with active marshaling. Every time it’s waiting and waiting.

Only drawback was the guy who checked us in was pretty rude. Not great customer service but it won't stop me from playing here again

Fantastic course, incredible scenery and ciurse layout. The conditions were absolutely incredible! Highly recommend!!!

There was standing water in many of the bunkers and very little sand in others. The pace of play was very slow. From what the course marshal said, there were several groups ahead of us who had never played golf before. This is a challenging course and not one to play for your first time playing golf.
