SilverRock Resort
About
SilverRock Resort is the city of La Quinta's first municipal golf course. This Arnold Palmer Classic Course is the home course of the Bob Hope Classic. At 7,239 yards, it is the longest course in Palm Springs and one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour. SilverRock sits right at the base of the Santa Rosa and Coral Mountains, which provide a stunning backdrop for every hole. It is closer to the mountains than any other public golf course in the area. The rugged landscape provides rocky outcroppings and massive native bunkers to contend with throughout the course. Beautiful water features also come into play on several holes. The SilverRock layout is challenging but the widths of the fairways are fair and playable and the holes are diverse enough to appeal to a range of different skill levels.

This was a great par 3! This is zoomed in so you dont quite get the percetion of the distance. A solid 175 or so, over water and well protected. Photo submitted by ThatGolfGuy on 09/26/2016

2/5 Stars
SilverRock has a great layout, which makes the poor management even more disappointing.
The biggest issue was that nobody told us before we paid that the greens had just been punched and that only the front 9 was open. That should have been disclosed before taking payment.
I was also charged $45 for a non-golfer rider—the same price I paid to play. The woman at the front desk said my rider was “taking away a cart” from another golfer, yet I was sent out as a single. That explanation made no sense and was honestly embarrassing.
I also passed two marshals sitting in their carts looking at their phones who never bothered to help me locate a ball.
The only bright spot was the cart staff. They were friendly, cleaned my clubs, and even offered us extra water as we were leaving.
It’s a shame because the course itself is fun to play, but poor communication, questionable policies, and inattentive staff made for a disappointing experience.
Only front 9 open
First and foremost, this is going to be a really nice course in 3-5 years. I did book on Golfpass and unfortunately I was not aware that only the front 9 was open and you needed to play it twice. This was the problem. 10 minutes between 4-somes but when you completed the front they squeezed you in people just teeing off which created a 5+ hour round.
Fantastic Golf Experience
William and the entire staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel well taken care of from start to finish. The course was in great condition and offered a perfect mix of challenge and fun. The scenery and views throughout the round were absolutely beautiful and made the experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone visiting the area and looking for a great day of golf.
Half of Course Closed
Hot deal on GOLFNOW but didn’t say half the course was closed and would have to play nine twice..smh
Nice course, horrible staff
Staff insulted my entire team asking if we have ever played golf before…. We have been playing for 20 years and told pace of play was horrible .. never insult players especially when we were back to back with the group in front of us. Shame on them. Cart broke down multiple times. No amenities, its a trailer for everything. Everyone except the cart guys were rude. Starter and marshall were horrible. Will never come back and will make sure people know not to come.
Disappointed doesn’t begin to say it!
This course was under Repair for multiple months on the front line and it was in the worst shape. I have ever seen it since I began playing it years ago. There was sod buckling around the greens where they had repaired or enlarged greens and the course was so dry. It was such a disappointment. I can’t believe that they have let this course get in such disrepair!
They’re now working on the back nine and I hope that someone in the city office will step in for a review and oversight.
Back nine closed so we had to play the front nine twice. This was not disclosed when I made the tee time. Had I known this I outdone not have played this course.
We were told on the first tee , back nine was closed. We had to play the front nine twice. Making the turn they still had tee times booked solid and tried to stager foursomes, very chaotic. If we knew that we definitely would have played another golf course. Greens were in terrible condition, most of them had more dead grass than alive grass. Staff was very nice . We will never play this course again.
Not so great.
Lots of course do’s and dont’s before we played but failing to mention the back nine was closed. This is a challenging course with lots of sand and some water. Vs
Horrible condition
Back nine is closed so we played front twice. No warning in the booking about this. Greens are very roug, many dead spots. Most tee boxes are so hard it’s difficult to get a tee in. Very disappointed. They should not be charging people. When I complained to the starter about playing the same nine twice he said it wa sin the booking which it was not. Do not go. Lots of renovations going on.
Don't go here until upgraded
only half of the course is open - 9 holes.and the what ticked me off was Golf Now didn't disclose that until after the booking. they say it is the front 9 but it looks jumbled up to me. they claim the back nine is under renovation. i think it has to do with the complex bankruptcy preceding's. the over-all course conditions were ok but there was standing water on many of the low lying areas. i would just avoid this course until fully functional.
The back nine was closed
The fact the back nine was closed was not disclosed to the golfers when tee times were made or at check in. A waste of money.
course needs water
back 9 is being refurbished, so play front 9 twice. Friendly foursome, but some burnout already evident in fairways and on greens. The greens play dead straight, just as the starter instructed, so listen to those with course knowledge.
Exceeded Expectations
Very friendly staff. They get you ready for your golf day. Carts felt newish. They were comfortable with ice, waters, and even a club cleaning station on the cart itself. The course is gorgeous as you’re playing right next to the mountains the entire round. Flowing water and waterfalls throughout the back 9 is what took it over the top. Will definitely play this course again.
Perfect Pace of Play
It was our first time on the course and we missed our tee time. The starter let us start on the back nine and It almost felt like we were the only ones out there.
I appreciate his willingness to accommodate us! Great course, great staff!
Has been in better condition previously
Some of the greens were not in very good shape (especially #4). Many of the sand traps were very dried
Unfinished old construction sites all over
What an awful experience:,A trailer as pro shop, abandoned construction sites all over the place. A shame! Don‘t trust the website pictures. A day to forget.
Under construction
Course is actually in a beautiful location, greens were in need of a lot of work, course was very dry and hard. Had a good time but pro shop is in a trailer and never made it to the make shift grill for lunch. Under a lot of construction currently and probably will be a great place in a yr or so….
good hot round
seemed odd that now the pro shop is in a trailer and there are lots of partially completed buildings with no work going on. Didn't like the pace of play warnings since we never held anyone up but we were the last 4 holes. Very scenic and a good variety of holes from about 100 yds to almost 600 yds.. Lots of subtile breaks in the huge greens.
