Brute at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa
About
Grand Geneva Resort & Spa was ranked in the top 10 northern U.S. golf resorts by Conde Nast Traveler. The resort boasts two championship courses, the Brute and the Highlands. The formidable Brute Course stretches to over 7,000 yards. It is considered one of the toughest golf courses in the Midwest. The layout wanders across rolling terrain, incorporating a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. There are 68 bunkers strategically placed along the massive, undulating greens. The course is aptly named since it will relentlessly test your skills. It is more challenging than the Highlands, which is a links course designed by Jack Nicklaus and Pete Dye. In addition to the two courses, Grand Geneva Resort & Spa also has a practice facility complete with a driving range and putting and chipping greens.

Brute
Live this course! It’s challenging but beautiful! We had a great pace of play! A very enjoyable round!
Great course
It rained all day the day before, I expected a very wet saturated course. Nope, only a few holes were saturated but no standing water at all.
Great course, fun layout, is it worth 198$…debatable.
Worth playing once
Challenging and beautiful
Absolutely beautiful and pristine course
Extremely challenging greens and sand
Lots of hazards
Loved our time here
THe Brute is solid
Course was in great shape. Excellent resort facilities. Great area to play.
The Brute
Early season play and this course was perfect. Greens ran fast and smooth. Bunkers could use some new sand because you will be in them. Great time.
Great course!
Wonderful conditions. Pace of play was slow, but it was worth the wait
Worth the trip
Try to make the drive (2 hours) a few times a year, and it never disappoints. Staff is always very welcoming and friendly.
Top notch
One of the very best courses in the state and everything that comes with it.
The Brute at Grand Geneva
A beautiful course with excellent views, fairways and greens. Highly recommend.
Beautiful course … poorly managed pace of play
The course was immaculate and the layout extremely challenging. However, the pace of play was excruciating. A company outing was playing, but it seems the pace wasn’t being monitored. At one point we had 5 groups on one hole…3 waiting. On 18, the company players were all waiting for each group and celebrating on the green. This no doubt contributed to the slowness. We finished our round (2 players) in a little over 5 hours.
An amazing day!
This was a wonderful experience! Course was beautiful and tough! You really need to look at some of the areas you are hitting to over the greens can be a killer here. Most are downhill back to front. Greens are massive and bunkers are everywhere and tough. Love this track its not cheap but if you're a player so worth the $$$
