Dougalston Golf Club

First time played course has some challenging holes pity greens had just been aereated but only normal this time of year. Not a criticism but the distance between tees I thought long but probably only way the course could be laid out.

You need a taxi to get to the next tee and there’s not enough signs to see where is the next tee to many threes in the course and very narrow not gone be back there at all

Fairways and greens in very good condition; interesting layout, with several sections of the course where you couldn’t see other holes; excellent value @ £20 pp.

Nice course and good enough greens, def lost a lot of balls due to hitting into woody area. One thing it needs is better sign posts to tell you where to go next thats the only negative

Played today after purchasing my round on the Golf now app.

I’ve seen loads of reviews slating this course, some really old may I add, but here’s my honest view on the course.

This course has seen many rerouting over the years, but I have to say it’s a fairly gentle start to the round with two straight forward holes to certainly start with.

The course has been commented on that it’s tight off the tee and that’s definitely the case, but why would you want it any other way. If you like to thrash the ball into huge wide fairways and no rough then try an open field for that. Dougalston is a real proper golf course.and as the holes aren’t overly long, your driver can stay in the bag, use your fairway finder and go from there.

Visually it’s beautiful with the holes carved through an old woodland estate.

Tricky water hazards on certain holes adds to the experience.

The weather has been non stop rain however I certainly didn’t see any flooding issues on the course, it was dry under foot.even when the downpour was on for 3 of the holes.

Tees, fairways and rough all cut and very sharp detailing around the greens.

Now what really matters is how good are the greens.. well they were excellent both in terms of smooth and running true. My missed putts was my fault not the condition of the greens. No bald areas or damage just very green, fast and well managed.

The club house is part of the leisure club so it’s not got that typical club house feel but I personally prefer the more casual atmosphere. Big couches to sit relax and enjoy your food and drink whilst reviewing your score.

In summary it’s a golfer’s golf course and remember the game is supposed to be a mixture of challenge and a walk with a view.

Course was in good condition and had some really nice holes.

I have played this course several times. As usual the course was in good condition. This time we found ourselves behind a group of about six or seven kids who appeared to have jumped on the course. After playing through, we found another group of kids further round the course, again seemingly jumping between random holes. They appeared to be part of a club and had a couple of adults wandering round with them. I'm not sure if they had paid to be on or not, but either way shouldn't be going round in groups this size.

Fairways and greens in good condition at this time of year. No pace of play issues on a Monday morning. Good value

Bit wet in places but after recent weather it wasn't a surprise.

Cafe at the course is very very expensive.

Don't be fooled into thinking it will be quiet going by availability on golf now.

Granted there had been some rain recently and all that but the place was a mud bath. Including the fairways. Lying water pretty much on the entirety of every single fairway. Massively regretted booking here unfortunately.

Thought the layout was quite poor with several longish walks from greens to next tees and a lot of holes that you need to walk back on yourself to get to the tee. Doubt I’ll ever be back to be honest

I usually play this course every time I'm in Glasgow. However this could be the last. Ended up chunking my first few wedges as the first few fairways were soaking First few greens were also wet. And all the greens were incredibly slow. I haven't experienced this problem before. It hadn't rained in a week so possibly the greens keepers were doing some maintenance hence the wet course. No warning was given. Which is a shame since it's quite a good wee set up of a course. Usually well worth the money but probably worth phoning the pro shop before play, judging by other people's reviews aswell.

For £20 this is a fantastic course which provides challenging holes

A great variety of greens on this course. In a decent condition. Good price. Well worth a visit
