Really nice hole layouts
Was a great course really nice layout. didn't get nice weather hopefully play again soon with better weather conditions
Varied but hilly
Worth a visit. Course has some interesting holes. Up and down a bit. Greens in a great condition. Staff very helpful.
Hills
Good course long holes after walking up hills all day 😂
5 ball of elderly gentlemen with no etiquette
Poor show from a five ball in front of us. All older gentlemen all over every fairway and presumably all members. We started four holes behind them and caught up to them on 10. One with a golf cart, one on a Dr. Evil electric scooter type, two with an electric trolley and one with a standard trolley. No understanding of how to let a two ball through - dangerous at points as they continued to play as we attempted to get through and out their way and didn’t stand well out of the scope of play, leaving their bags blocking the greens at points.
Why has golf gotten to the stage that older players refuse to allow two very capable younger golfers through in the orthodox way to maintain pace of play? Disappointing level of etiquette from Windyhill members.
Course was in reasonable condition but not worth £40 when Clydebank, Hayston, Renfrew GC’s etc are nearby. Clubs need to start reflecting on the actual conditions of their courses and do some homework, investigating the conditions of other courses in the surrounding area when setting prices.
Friends Catchup
A lovely warm welcome and information on the course, with maps and scorecards issued. The course was in very good condition, with staff working hard to maintain the fairways and tee boxes. The greens were very good and true. Fairways were well maintained and in good condition. My only suggestion would be more sand in the bunkers (only visited a couple)
Appropriately named!
Crackin course - alot of holes built into the hillside w great views - be prepared for a stoat - wouldny play it in bad weather the wind is brutal enough
Great value for money
A classic James Braid layout with quite a lot of elevation change. An interesting layout with lovely turf although the greens were very slow. Some very interesting par 3 holes and two very tough par 4 holes in the 9th and 12th. Really good value for money .

Great Course. Couple cracking little par3s
As someone new to the course, a little Map on the back of the score card of the course would go a long way in regards to knowing where to go on a couple of holes.
Crackin course
Class course, long and wide fairways w postage stamp greens - be prepared for a hike! but the views are worth it.

A lot of work required
- grass length inconsistent on fairways and greens.
- some tees for other holes are positioned between another tee and hole, which just slows everything down, layout needs improved.
We had a group behind us tee off when we were still in their landing zone and two balls landing within 10 yards, not something the club is necessarily at fault for but again the layout meant multiple groups were bunched up behind each other towards the end.
The Clue is in the name!
Had a good time playing Windyhill – it’s a proper challenge! The fairways were in good nick and the greens were nice and fast, though a few could do with a bit of extra care here and there.
It’s definitely not a course you can take lightly – it’s well named! The hills make things tricky, especially when your ball catches a slope and rolls off where you weren’t planning. You really need to be accurate off the tee or you’ll find yourself chasing it downhill more than you’d like.
One wee gripe was the signage – or lack of it. The clubhouse looks like it’s mid-renovation, and we had a bit of a mission trying to find a few of the next tee boxes. The 4th was a good example – turns out it’s actually behind the car park, but we only found it after asking a helpful member.
All that said, it was a pleasant round overall. Good challenge, nice views, and friendly folk around the place. Would go back.
Good course
Bit long and hilly for me
But would recommend a round
Views over Glasgow are great
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Great Course and Friendly Staff
The staff was very friendly. The course was in a good condition, well kept with a couple greens needing some repair. They allowed us to play more holes when we were done with the 18 we paid for which we really appreciated.
