East at Orangebrook Country Club
About
There are two 18-hole golf courses available at Orangebrook Country Club in Hollywood, the East and the West. Built in the 1930s, the East Course is the club's original layout. While its design may be more traditional, it is just as much of a challenge as the newer West Course. The East has fewer water hazards but there are large bunkers strategically placed throughout. There are some tricky holes included in the design but there are also many player-friendly features as well including wide-open fairways and generous landing areas. Players can get their practice in on the large, lighted driving range that has both distance markers and a practice bunker. Orangebrook C.C. offers not one but two player-friendly but challenging rounds, making it popular amongst locals for being one of the area's best values.

west
the greens were improved, the roughs had been cut but the joy of the round was the tempo of the course few distractions
course in very bad shape
Looks like since the course is planned to be reconstructed they abandon any care for the greens and fairways. Sad....
Worst Course Conditions Ever
If they know that the course is in the conditions it is now, they should close it until it is playable.
Horrible
One of the worst courses I’ve ever played. Greens were dirt. Fairways not cut. Would not recommend to anyone
Been playing here for 7 years
This course used to have a driving range, but they replaced it with a police station, which honestly feels appropriate because somebody should probably investigate what happened to the maintenance budget. And this is coming from someone who has happily played here for 7 years, usually at least twice a year. This was the first time it genuinely felt like management waved the white flag and said, “Nature will take it from here.” The rough is so absurdly high that if you are not striping drives like 1999 Tiger Woods, prepare to donate an entire box of golf balls to the ecosystem. You can hit what feels like a perfect shot, miss the fairway by three feet, walk up confidently, and suddenly you’re searching for a tiny white sphere buried under ankle high grass. Good luck telling the difference between the bunkers and the greens. Everything just sort of blends together into one giant exhausted patch of earth.
The hot dogs were fantastic though. Honestly the grill might currently be carrying the entire operation.
A lot to be desired
Have played here multiple times over the past 5 years, and this is the worst shape I’ve seen it. If you miss a fairway, there is little to no chance of finding your ball due to grass length. There is nothing green about the greens. Might as well have been putting in one of the bunkers. Most of the facilities on the property look to be condemned and under fire hazard watch.
There is a giant sign at the front about a new residential and golf community being proposed for the land. I’m not sure if this is happening, but it may be why the course is not being maintained as it usually is.
Orangebrook east course
Greens were in horrible condition. Fairways were rough. First and second cuts off greens were to high. This course needs attention to make bit more palatable. I will not play this course again. I usually play the west course which has been in good condition.
East has Nice fairways and lay out horrible greens
Course is a bit challenging. A few holes require lay ups or a bit of course management. Most of the geens are in poor condition and puting feels as a game of plinko on a skating ring. The start up Marshall was friendly and great at pairing to insure q proper pace. The photos on Golf Now are deceiving and do not do just on how poorly the greens are maintained. Fairways are in better shape but rough and ridges are a bit over grown l, making it very difficult to find your ball if you happen to roll our or pull your drives. I've seen many courses offer a better experience at the compared price, so I'm not impressed with the value youu
Good for the money
Fairly easy course. Great place to build your confidence. The staff are super unfriendly. Some of the greens are very rough. But I will return to work on things
Awful course
Very badly maintained course. Greens have crap grass not even and dead ereas with earth only area. Most tee off are black dirth.
Course needs lots of care and redo. Never to play again.
Greens are getting worse
The course was in decent shape and very playable. But the greens are spotty, some spots look like dried mud. Hard to putt with no telling what the ball will do.
I hope they can address the greens as this is a nice course to play.
Greens / Tees
The course is fun, and open.
But the greens and tee boxes are in abysmal condition.
Unplayable for the time being, used to cone every weekend but it’s gotten so bad it’s not worth it.
Greens
Using the proper fertilizer and organic material will help these green pop . In Florida you have to spread the right seed like seashore paspalum . I would absolutely love to see some great greens there in future seasons. The layout is fun and challenging. A strong knowledgeable agronomy staff would probably love to give this course a proper glow to the community.
Sunbaked greens
Course layout is nice, but the cracked, crater-like fairway and greens needs some major TLC. Best to pay an extra $20 and play a better course somewhere that cares for the conditioning and manicuring of the course.
