Mirror Lake Golf Club - Mountain Course

Mountain course has lost their greens. Really bad shape. Sign in clubhouse apologizing, but no reduction in green fees.

The mountain course was closed for a couple of weeks, and reopened last week. I golfed on the course this morning and found the fairways to be in great shape, and the greens are already much improved from where they were a month ago. Give the greens a few more weeks, and by the end of October, the course should be in great shape again.

Since Mirror Lake opened up to being. Semi-private it’s been a good course j play regularly. But the price jump over the last few months has made me do so less and less. Simply put, it’s not a $100 course and now they’ve even made buying range balls more of a hassle.

But the biggest issue is Mountain course just had work done and the greens were not playable. They course was at a reduced rate but that wasn’t mentioned beforehand, and $70 for greens that look like the Sahara is just not reasonable. Will be avoiding for awhile.

The fact that they let people book the mountain course is diabolical. The greens were horrendous and said only 2 holes were “bad” 17 of 18 holes were horrific.

HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!!!!!!!Mirror Lake MTN greens are unplayable. Hopefully they put a banner up on Golfnow to let golfers know. It was not there when I booked, and no one in the Clubhouse said anything before we paid. I enjoy the Layout. It will be all good when the greens are back. For now, STAY AWAY!!

Visiting from Massachusetts and i enjoyed the difference in the landscape and course layout. i definitely will play it again.

There was no warning from booking online, to the check in counter, to the starter about how we were about to experience what it’s like to putt on the moon…. I have been playing here for years and I would have paid 20 dollars to putt on those greens if I knew. I can’t believe they are charging $77 dollars and not saying a word about it. I might pay 77 pesos to play but that’s about it… stay away from the mountain course.

Dead, punched greens. Hairy fairways. THICK rough.

The greens are absolutely horrible. I don’t think I’ve ever seen greens that bad. Fairways were fine, rough was pretty rough, lost a few balls in there. Some tee boxes were so thick I could barely tee up my ball. Not worth $70.

Great layout. Greens were absolutely destroyed with disease. They didn’t tell us. They charged full price. Will never go back. Talked to one of the people working on the course and he said that in his 26 years at the course he has only seen the greens this bad one other time. Played the lakes course in June. Greens had been aerated and sanded. Again, nobody said anything and they charged full price. Highly disappointed since I was visiting from Ohio and was looking forward to playing the course.

Greens are in the worst condition. Fairways need work too. This is supposed to be a private course. It’s obvious they don’t want new members

If you enjoy golf, don’t go anywhere near the mountain course at Mirror Lake. The conditions of the greens are literally the worst I’ve ever seen in three decades of playing golf. They look like the surface of the moon if the moon was diseased and dying. Like they need to shut the course down and redo them, that kind of bad. Even worse, they don’t tell you anything about this when you pay your $70 to play. That makes this fraud. Especially when there is a second course that is in very good shape that they should steer you too. Not only well I never play the mountain course, but I will never play the Lake course again either because they are stealing your money for a round that essentially doesn’t have any playable greens. They should be ashamed.

The Mirror Lake (Mountain course) is in bad shape. All 18 greens are diseased and burned up. This course needs to be closed and all 18 greens need to be completely scalped, treated, punched, seeded and rested for at least two months. Basically the greens need a complete overhaul. These greens are the worst I have ever seen on any golf course anywhere. Also, the fairways were over grown, the bunkers were like concrete and the tee boxes are lumpy and over grown. Apparently the Mirror Lake (Lake) course is in better shape than the mountain course. Bottom line, don’t go play the Mountain course.

Mirror Lake mountain course has the worst greens of any golf course I’ve ever played in 40 years. This is not an exaggeration. They aren’t even greens, it’s really that bad. Like they need to shut that course down and re-do them bad. Worse still, they not only charged full fee - $65 for a Monday, but there’s no warning or anything. It’s theft to take money for this course with these greens. Shame on this golf course for not telling people how bad it is before they steal your money. Especially with a second course that is in very good shape. You need to shut down the mountain course and just take peoples money for the Lake course until you fix them. Paid $275 for our foursome. Literal theft. Now I’ll never support them by playing the lake course either

I would not recommend this course in its current state and the cost behind it, I’ve played many courses around Georgia and for the price that they set and the current conditions I wouldn’t bother making the driver there. Fairways were nice and ruffs were taken care of, but your 2-4 putting on the greens, some of them didn’t even have grass on them anymore. For 90$+ I would expect way better conditions and/or amenities. This is a 30-40$ level course at best. Unless they lower their prices I wouldn’t bother coming to this course.

Great course all around until you get onto the green. Most of them are dead and impossible to roll a putt on. If the course put more money into the mountain course greens it would be great for the price.

The “greens” are a nightmare in the mountain course. wouldn’t play it again for free.

⭐️⭐️ Mirror Lake Golf Course – Mountain Course Review

The staff at Mirror Lake was excellent from start to finish. Everyone we dealt with—from check-in to the marshal, ranger, and cart girl attendant—was friendly and helpful. The cart girl was very well stocked. The restaurant at the turn was also well managed with a great selection of food, and the service made it easy to grab something quickly and get back out.

The fairways were in good shape, and the tee boxes were nice. Unfortunately, the greens on the Mountain Course were in very poor condition, and that really took away from the experience. From what we could tell, the Lake Course uses a different type of grass that seems to handle the summer heat much better. The Mountain Course greens simply were not holding up.

Pace of play was another issue. Tee times were booked about every nine minutes, which put a lot of golfers on the course. When groups ahead didn't maintain pace, it created backups and made the round feel crowded and rushed at the same time.

Overall, the staff and the rest of the course were great, but for the price we paid, the condition of the greens made it feel overpriced and not worth the cost. With better greens and a little more spacing between tee times, it could be a much better experience.
