8/22/2026 mountain course
I would not recommend this course in its current state and the cost behind it, I’ve played many courses around Georgia and for the price that they set and the current conditions I wouldn’t bother making the driver there. Fairways were nice and ruffs were taken care of, but your 2-4 putting on the greens, some of them didn’t even have grass on them anymore. For 90$+ I would expect way better conditions and/or amenities. This is a 30-40$ level course at best. Unless they lower their prices I wouldn’t bother coming to this course.
Horrible greens
Great course all around until you get onto the green. Most of them are dead and impossible to roll a putt on. If the course put more money into the mountain course greens it would be great for the price.
Terrible greens.
The “greens” are a nightmare in the mountain course. wouldn’t play it again for free.
Mountain course
⭐️⭐️ Mirror Lake Golf Course – Mountain Course Review
The staff at Mirror Lake was excellent from start to finish. Everyone we dealt with—from check-in to the marshal, ranger, and cart girl attendant—was friendly and helpful. The cart girl was very well stocked. The restaurant at the turn was also well managed with a great selection of food, and the service made it easy to grab something quickly and get back out.
The fairways were in good shape, and the tee boxes were nice. Unfortunately, the greens on the Mountain Course were in very poor condition, and that really took away from the experience. From what we could tell, the Lake Course uses a different type of grass that seems to handle the summer heat much better. The Mountain Course greens simply were not holding up.
Pace of play was another issue. Tee times were booked about every nine minutes, which put a lot of golfers on the course. When groups ahead didn't maintain pace, it created backups and made the round feel crowded and rushed at the same time.
Overall, the staff and the rest of the course were great, but for the price we paid, the condition of the greens made it feel overpriced and not worth the cost. With better greens and a little more spacing between tee times, it could be a much better experience.
Horrible greens
Staff was very friendly and amiable and the course layout was decent in terms of variety. However, the state of the greens was absolutely atrocious and essentially makes the course unplayable. Would not recommend until the greens improve.
Abhorrent! Terrible Greens and Useless Staff. Don’t Waste Your Time/Money
I’ve played both courses a bunch of times. Whoever is in charge needs to be fired for letting this course get in such poor shape. GREENS ARE AWFUL! More black than green. I’ve seen $40 courses in better shape. They have no business charging the amount they charge. The staff is useless, they know it sucks and just shrug their shoulders. Crab grass growing all over the fairways. Cart paths will jar your back they’re so bad. Potholes on the road in to mess up the alignment on your car. This place has gone to trash. Won’t be back.
WOW!! Read this if playing anytime soon
So I have played this course over 20 times. Both lake and mountain. We played mountain today.
1: on the way in to the parking lot, I hit 2 craters(pot holes). I am pretty sure it bent my rim. We had a 7:20 tee time and it was darkish coming in.
2 my friends always drive from Atlanta to play here, since the cost/conditions are typically way better here. We played about a month ago and it was great. Greens were smooth, fast, and FUN. The greens today were almost unplayable. If it was $40 it would have been barely acceptable. They charged the normal $89 plus $8 for 35 range balls. We were fine with the price, but there was nothing that said the greens were being repaired or garbage. That to me is just false advertising in a way.
3. The tee boxes were hit or miss, but I didn’t have a big problem with that. There was A LOT of monkey grass/weeds all over the fairways and tee boxes. Not the way it normally is.
4. We will be returning, but unfortunately, we will have to call and ask how the conditions are. That should not be the case for a $100 round. You can pay the same price and go to oak mountain and it is always on point. Or go to st. Andrews and pay $40-$50 and get better greens then these were.
My suggestion is to avoid this course for at least a month. And make sure you call and ask, since they don’t post in online.
I hope this helps somebody out. I wish I had seen something like this.
Terrible Greens
I've played this course many times. Last was 7/26. Yesterday, 8/9/26, greens were awful!
Dead spots, bare spots, black spots, ball marks.
I'm glad I didn't pay $90 which is the member for a day rate. Golfnow rate minus $10 coupon from Golfpass made it less painful.
Greens
Greens are in awful shape. Played on Sunday after 3 pm when the course is $45. Still not worth it. A shame, as the course was in great condition a month ago. It seems like the lake course is in better condition, but still suffering too
Horrible Greens
We played the mountain course is not in good shape. The greens were horrible and no way should they be charging $90 a round for this course. The greens have been lost, they are almost like putting on gravel. I would not recommend the Mountain course.
Bad Value - good layout, poor service, poor conditions
Was excited to make the 45 minute drive to Villa Rice to give the mountain course a shot. Despite playing my best round of the year, could not have left more disappointed. Worst greens I have ever seen and rock hard sand offset what was solid fairway and tee box conditions. Can tell the staff is fishing for every dollar possible as they charged us for our player that had to drop out morning of due to health issues. If the tee sheet was packed, I could maybe see it. But we didn’t see another golfer until our final hole. Might be worth $40 but not worth the journey for $90+.
Goat Tracks look better
I’ll keep this review simple. Charging same price as they did for Lakes yesterday which is in much better shape. Please see example green below and you can have your own opinion.
this course is fake news
reserved the lake course and when checking in, they put us on the mountain course. They knew exactly what they were doing in the pro shop because the mountain course is not in good shape. The greens look like a back of someone that’s on steroids. Pimple back horrid. I would not recommend this course. I drove from the city to play it. Very disappointed will not be back. It’s sad because this is a nice layout of a golf course. Just poorly maintained. Do not recommend. Sorry to write a bad review, but someone’s gotta be honest in the room.
Rough greens
Tee boxes and fairways were in good condition but the greens were in bad shape
The course conditions by someone who isn’t picky
We had a 7:00am tee time, The course overall is fair, the fairways and rough are thick and the ground isn’t too soft or too hard, tee boxes are awesome as well. my issue is the greens (probably the most important part). we played the mountain course and it’s a nice layout with some narrow fairways but the front 9 greens are terrible. lots of dead spots with no grass, some with more sand than grass i think the problem is irrigation. the back 9 greens are a lot better couple of em have dead spots but most of them have more grass than the front 9. also lots of piles of grass hanging around the greens from where the crew cut but didn’t blow them off. i wouldn’t pay 65$ to play here again, maybe 40$ max. i’ve seen public courses have better greens for better price than this, and to call this a country club i wouldn’t say your getting country club quality. we drove an hour to play here and i will say i wont be back. no hate but that’s my honest opinion.
The owner has finally achieved goat track status at all 3 courses
Greens are destroyed. Check out the video. Owner has high turnover staff and won’t let the course rest and recover. He has ruined a once good club.
