Very nice layout, the greens are in good shape but I the sand traps need a lot of work

Unfortunately, nothing on this GolfNow or on the golf course site tells you it can take up to 3 days to get a pass. It also doesn't tell you that the gate 6 visitor center is closed on Saturdays. So we had applied for the pass Friday, but it didn't come through before our tee time Saturday and we did not get to play... It's probably a good course, but apply for the pass to get on Fort Gordon a few days in advance if you want to find out.

In town for the Masters. Military Base staff were great. Make sure you go in through gate 6 unless it’s the weekend and you need to get clearance to enter through gate 5. Armed officers at gate were great and helped us get in even with gate 6 closed in the weekend. Course pro shop needs to send you a pass to your e-mail. Also, best burgers and hot dogs I can remember at a golf course. Enjoyed Island course for front 9 & beautiful Lake course for back 9. President Eisenhower would be proud! Great course, Value, & staff!

The course isn’t really managed. They let anybody play in whatever order they come. They don’t care if you are a walker or rider. They throw anybody anywhere cause they don’t keep track of where people are. It took 2 hours to play 3 holes because of this. Walked up to the counter, dude behind the counter decided it was more important to greet everyone he knew which took an additional 7 mins before I could check in. There’s a girl that was also behind the counter who was basically just standing there. Not sure of her purpose. Never going back. I’d rather pay more for a course where they manage the course and keep play orderly.

On line said the course had silver tees but it did not

Course was in good shape, fairways were clean and lively, greens were great with the exception of a weed or two here and there. I played on a Thursday by myself and finished in ~2.5 hours. If you’re planning to play this course make sure you go to Fort Gordon gate 6 and pre-apply for a guest pass if possible. There are instructions to do so on their GolfNow page but I missed them, so I was a bit late for my tee time. Staff were understanding and accommodating since it was a weekday. Also, if it’s your first time playing make sure you ask about the course rotation, they’ve got 27 holes and only 2/3 are intended to be played on any given day. That said, I had an enjoyable round and will definitely be playing again in the future.

The greens have a ton of weeds throughout. I first played the course back in 2014 and it was absolutely immaculate but the course still looks rough seven months after hurricane Helene. Fairways and rough are dry and in dire need of water. The course is challenging and fun to play but it needs some TLC.
