Cherokee Run Golf Club

I landed in ATL for a military trip with my kiddo, I wanted to get a quick round in before we headed to our destination and we were only able to play 11 holes and it was almost 3hrs in, we didn't finish and it wasn't getting any faster. We had to leave. This was on a Tuesday @ 2pm also so that's insane

Condition has been much better in the past but still a good course. Pace was awful, people in front were terrible, no clue and no ethics. First 9 holes took 3 hours and no Marshall anywhere.

Cherokee is great, but the greens are the worst I’ve seen here. Need a complete overhaul.

The course was in decent shape, it took 2.5hrs for my son and I to play 10 holes. We ended up leaving the course after 11 holes because the pace brutal

Played The Run on 9/27. The greens were running quite fast. This is always a tough course where you have to bring your A Game, especially when the greens are this quick.

I did notice a few recent changes arguably made to eliminate bunker issues and maybe soften up the course a bit. The bunkers behind 12 were converted to grass bunkers. This makes sense because it was extremely difficult to keep adequate sand in those due to the sloped terrain. I have actually putted out of those bunkers previously vs trying to hit a soft shot from hard pan sand.

Same situation with the bunkers on the left of the fairway in the approach area on 3. Those were removed entirely. They often suffered the same issue and would get washed out due to the steep slope.

Overall, Great experience. The golf course is very challenging, but the greens are under repair. I would definitely play this course again.

They do it right at CR. Course is in good shape, fun round. Tough course though!

Great course overall. Fast greens in good shape, fluffy bunkers and reasonable condition tee boxes (most are great, a few are poor conditions/hard as rock)

Only feedback is that there are several tee boxes where poorly maintained trees are obstructing common paths for a tee shot. I realize this can be part of the challenge but in at least a few cases it seemed unreasonable.

Very challenging course with lots of elevation changes. Fast, undulating greens. Excellent zoysia fairways. A couple quirky holes, but I plan to play it again.

Course is too much for seniors. Too hilly. Price is too high. Course kart paths need repair. Some vegetation needs to be removed from kart paths. Didn’t see many golfers on the course.

Tell ya folks if ya end the area within a hour of Atlanta ya need to visit this place. Rolling hills elevation changes great practice facility and dinning. Wonderful employees from the pro shop to the dinning staff to the Marshalls. Ya will not find a better course especially for the price.

Played Cherokee Run yesterday and had a great experience. The course was in excellent condition overall. A couple of the tee boxes could use a little attention, but that was the only minor issue I noticed.

The greens had just been aerated, so I can’t hold that against them. Even so, they were in good shape and should be rolling great once they fully recover. The course is challenging without being overly difficult, making it a fun and rewarding round from start to finish. Hot deal prices are well worth it!

The clubhouse also has a nice bar and restaurant, which was a great place to relax after the round. Overall, this is a well-maintained course with a great layout, and I’ll definitely be back.

A little disappointed after reading previous reviews. A lot of brown areas due to lack of water. Some tee boxes hard & fairways not like in past w/ good lies on the zoysia grass. Greens best part but keep it below hole or you’ll be having a fast putt. Got a GN deal, would not pay regular rate. The course has been in better shape in the past. Also pace of play slow, waiting on a lot of shots. They had a starter but no marshaling during play

Have to admit that I love the course layout here. The overall conditions were average at beat with some spot a little rough in the fairways and on certain tee boxes. The green were firm but a little shaggy the day I played. Definitely be below the hole but expect some slow putts. Lot of grain to the greens don’t made reading and putting a bit difficult having not played here in a good while. Staff is great!

Staff - very helpful and friendly

It’s worth the drive to Conyers. Hope to play again later in the summer!!

3rd time playing here. Always enjoy this course. Will be back.
