Golfer Reviews
Getting better
They are putting a lot of work into this course and you can see it. Lot of nice improvements. That said, a few bunkers have what seemed to be concrete under the sand. I hurt my wedge pretty badly in there (as well as my pride). The greens were a bit of a mystery. There were weeds EVERYwhere. It was pretty bad. The greens were otherwise excellent. But putting on them was a chore and aggravating. I know they have a lot going on but greens should be paramount. Fun track nonetheless. The real problem was pace of play. It was unforgiveably slow, and groups separated by 9 mins is just crazy. If they fix that, the greens and very rocky bunkers and other fairways areas with rock and hardpack under them, this course will be stellar.
Just book somewhere else
Pace of play was beyond slow. We were waiting every. Single. Hole. Every green was covered in weeds and each tee box was just awful. This course has a long way to go. Will be back in another 10 years. Wish i could give it 0 stars
Getting there
The course appears to be to going through and upgrade. Overall it was decent. Many tee boxes were bare. Greens were hard and good for lack of rain. 9th hole is ridiculous. It needs to be redone. Will play again as it is challenging and seems to be improving in all areas.
CC of Gwinnett 8-15-26
After seeing the recent positive reviews, I decided to make the drive out there and give it a shot. The price is very fair for what you get. The course is in fantastic shape. Fairways are greens were mowed with no bare spots and the greens rolled true. A few tee boxes were fairly thin, but nothing major. It plays short and you only need driver on about 5 holes. #2 is kind of a dumb hole because the blind tee shot falls into a dry, rocky creek bed with no notice, so lay it up just past the top of the hill.
Perhaps the best thing was the starter/marshall, Mr. Lee Ellerbe. He was the most helpful, positive, and pleasant outside guy I have ever dealt with. Super nice. And the inside guys at check in were cool too. Chill golf guys, not snobby country club guys.
Overall, I’d give it 10 stars if I could. Highly recommended.
Thank you for the great first round
This was my first round that I played by myself in awhile and I really enjoyed the challenge the course gave me...and the cooler on the cart...thank you!
Coming Together Nicely
CC of Gwinnett has had its ups and downs over the past few years. It's a fun track that was plagued by mismanagement a few years back but appears to be regaining its form. There are a few tee boxes that need some TLC, but the fairways and greens are very playable and pleasing aesthetically. It can get slow on busy weekend days so dial up your patience. Great for afternoon rounds as the pace is much better. Not extremely challenging course but very fun and scorable.
CC of Gwinnett
Excellent pace of play. Tee boxes need some work. Lots of bare areas. Cart died on the 9th hole.
Staff is trying to improve course but still need some major work
Getting better each time we play
Enjoy playing the course which keeps improving, carts w/ gps helpful. Like others pace of play a concern. We waited on every hole. Marshalls on course, not sure their responsibility. GPS shows time of your round, use it to remind slower golfers to speed up. A recreational golfer should pick up after double bogey.
The little things matter. Geofencing is a mess.
There's never water at the water stations or the ball cleaners. 0 for 10 times I've played there. Goefencing will stop your cart dead smack in the middle of the fairway, #7 is the worst. It even caught me on the actual cart path. Besides that, fairways are really nice, greens are decent for Mid-July, staff are pretty cool, nice carts.
Lots of Potential
First time playing, we enjoyed the round minus “cart path only”. Couple of things that could be done is to expand the greens back out to the original size. Most greens have been downsized especially on the back 9. They shouldn’t allow groups of 6 that caused a slow down on the back. Staff was friendly! Don’t miss out on the 19th hole, the pulled pork, smoked mac and cheese and the baked beans were 5stars!!
Amazing Course
Amazing set up very challenging but also fair !! Love the greens ! Pace play was a little frustrating i think the Marshall could manage the pace of play but overall I highly recommend the course
Good course
Fun and exciting holes. Beautiful scenery on a few of the holes. Fun place to play. Well kept up with. Will definitely return!
