Turkey Creek Golf Club

Their course monitors need to be more assertive. I was playing as a single woman with three guys.? I play ok . If I bothered with a handicap, it would be around 100. When I finally gave up playing with them on Hole 14, there were 4 completely empty holes in front of me. Similar situation last week. I love the course, but that slow pace was intolerable.

I love this course and have played it many many times the past 8 years. Unfortunately the course conditions are poor at the moment, the greens in particular. 2 of the greens were in terrible condition. I think its a result of the very hot weather we experienced in august. Its unfortunate as the course is a beautful layout. The fairways are in good shape, the rough was pretty deep the day I played but hey you keep it in short grass.

Course/greens are in rough condition, 5 1/2 round on a Monday.

Let’s start by saying the layout here is great and for the most part it’s a great course.But a couple holes have definately seen better days…..not sure how they got so bad.Mainly just the greens on number 8(par 3) and 16(par5)…..those two in general are almost unplayable they have gotten so bad and need to be replaced.Sure others have problem areas like the 2nd hole with the bunker on the false front haha….. but there playable and pin can be located accordingly.I love this course and hope they can find a decent greenskeeper to get it back to its old luster but am wondering where it goes from here

Loved the course. We had a couple greens with sprinklers running around noon which was odd. The starter over lapped a tournament with people or something. It was very slow. 5 1/2 hours. We got the last two hot dogs at the turn at noon. Might want to put a few more on the grill anticipating hungry players. Other than that it was great, fun course.

The greens are in horrible shape. 16 green literally has no grass. Of course they still charge full rate.

Website warned that greens had been 'aerated' and the pro shop reminded us at check-in... In reality, we didn't experience normal aeration issues (plugs, etc.), but rather many greens were very dried out with dead spots and patches with what seemed like a different grass than the rest of the green. This created not just difficult playing conditions, but was visually somewhat shocking, as I had always felt like course maintenance had been top-drawer in previous visits to Turtle Creek.

Conditions were unacceptable. There was no water on the course (bathroom, and restaurant). Greens were under repair. My understanding is they are going through grounds superintendent issues. My suggestion is to have a disclosure before anyone else decides to waste their money.

Unbelievable slow! No Marshall to be found, ,gopher holes on greens, standing water on the 14th hole ( how is that possible?). Very bad sections on some greens, however fairways weren’t bad. This course is usually in better shape. I’ll probably play here again, but no time soon.

Course was in good condition. Pace of play was slow but tolerable.

Course was beautiful. Wife and I are from Redding and never played the course. We were paired with 2 locals who helped us around the course telling us where to hit at good spots to put ourselves in good position. Trees are everywhere and quite a few blind tee shots and blind approach shots and you definitely have to choose where you hit it wisely because there were spots on the course that were very punishing even if you’re in the fairway. Greens were great. Green undulation was challenging. Definitely worth the money. Had a great pastrami sandwich at the grill and a transfusion and water hazard for alcoholic beverages and were very tasty. Would recommend our experience to anybody. Pace of play was slower at the end but I think that’s because it’s 4th of July weekend and everyone was out golfing having a great time so I’m not going to blame the course. Hole 10 and 18 were great picture spots! Staff was friendly and Marshells were there when we needed sand. We will definitely be back.

Turkey Creek is one of my favorite courses in the Sacramento area. People are friendly. The driving range is wide and never too crowded. The greens and fairways were all in great shape. The bunkers could use a little bit more attention, but that's OK for me.

Tough course. Would have been nice if they would have had water on the course though. It was hot.
