Tough times
I’m not sure what others are seeing at Chapel Hill but it needs work. Tee boxes are hard, fairways are good, and the greens are looking rough, and they use to be some of the best greens in the city. The lower driving range was like hitting from the rough. It’s not worth the $100 that we paid on Sunday, but maybe $45-50?
Former 30 year member
I’ve seen several improvents in sand traps , cart paths
and general conditions but the greens are not
as they were a year ago
One of the best courses in the area but over priced
for bumpy greens
Hoping they get the greens back in good shape
Small stones
Small stones are on the greens and bankers.
My wedge was scratched due to stones in the banker…..
Chapel Hills
First time on the course. I was somewhat disappointed in the condition of the course but at least it appears they are attempting to get things in better shape. The greens were in mediocre condition. Overall it can be an amazing course but the current condition did not merit the $73 price.
Why would I ever?
What was I thinking? Came back here thinking (hoping) the course would have been turned around with spring weather. OMG, what in the world became of the greens? Some are on the verge of death. Black patches and bumpy as can be. If I was thinking I could shoot a low round, the greens if they could speak would say "not today buddy“. Several of the tee boxes are almost bare dirt and rock hard. Have they ever heard of aeration? Top dressing? Certainly not worth the money and increasing the fees? Delusional. The members, who are left here, must be masochists or live nearby. Oh yeah, inhale deeply by 3 greens and look out for the sewer work!
Stay Away
I have played this course plenty of times. Good news - pro shop check in - David is a rock star. Starter was very pleasant. Course conditions were suspect especially considering the money we paid and also “private club”. Really? Looked like GN was everywhere. SLOW PLAY. Tees were mostly dirt. Traps were never raked. Fairways were a highlight. Greens are like putting on the Grand Canyon. A straight putt bounces everywhere For the money- go to West Pines. Avoid Chapel Hills. Noticed higher pricing. Not worth it.
Fun course with good conditions
Had a fun time playing this track. Overall conditions were good and greens were consistent and smooth. Not the longest course but it has great character and a good layout.
Great layout, conditions and pace of play
Love this course. If you haven’t played it before, add it to your list of clubs to play.
Not a private experience as marketed
$105. 5 hours later we finished. The only thing the course is good at is sliding your credit card and bunker sand when (and I emphasize "when") the bunker is raked.
0-stars if I could.
SO SLOWWWWWW
The course itself was great. No problems there.
It was no adjustment to pace of play. No one said anything. You go guys waiting on Par 5s just to hit it 10 yards. Have to do better. As of now I will not be back.
Over priced
I just recently went to play here and it was the most expensive golf I've ever played I'm sorry but even with the golf now app I won't be returning
Great course, Terrible Tee Boxes
Love the course but the tee box conditions are unforgivable. The audacity of this course to charge $100+ green fees while 80% of tee boxes are bare dirt is beyond me. Wouldn’t recommend playing here until management is able to right the ship and improve conditions.
Great deal for a great course
Had a solid experience at CH. Tee boxes were the only inconsistent part. Construction going on but was ok since it was clearly to make the course even better!
