I would have expected beverage or snack service on the course for the cost

I was in town visiting my daughter and wanted to get a round of golf in. I was looking through GolfNow and calling different courses, trying to find somewhere decent to play. A lot of the courses had mixed reviews, were booked up, or wanted to pair me with other golfers. A couple even warned me that a 3 PM tee time might make it difficult to finish 18 holes before dark, which made me wonder just how slow the pace of play was going to be.

Then I came across Chapel Hills. The reviews were some of the best I’d seen during my search, and GolfNow had a Hot Deal listed for $33, along with a promotion for 20% off Hot Deals. That made an already good price even better. I figured, why not give it a shot? I didn’t even call the course. I booked it and drove an hour to play somewhere I’d never been before.

Man, did I luck out!

What a great golf course! The fairways were in excellent shape, the greens rolled really well, and even the rough was well maintained. I didn’t run into hard, bare spots anywhere I was playing from. The layout was beautiful, with plenty of elevation changes, interesting holes, and some really nice scenery. And that 18th hole? Absolutely beautiful! Easily my favorite hole on the course.

The gentleman in the clubhouse was friendly and helpful, and I was able to play by myself at my own pace. There was a foursome ahead of me that offered to let me play through twice, but I was perfectly happy taking my time. I finished all 18 holes in about three and a half hours.

This was my first round in several months, and I couldn’t have picked a better course to get back into golf. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t overly difficult either. Just an enjoyable round from start to finish.

I’ve played plenty of courses over the years, and even at the $33 listed price, I think this was a fantastic value. I’d gladly make that hour-long drive again.

Very nice course. Everytumg in prime condition and thankfully not many people out. If this was intown it would be swarmed. Worth the drive out here though.

Tees, fairways, and greens are in really good shape. AJ in the pro shop was super cool. Few minor things like fairway bunker on 4 being filled in and mat tee on 8 to protect new grass, but nothing worth complaining about. $50 for late afternoon round is great value. Highly recommended.

I play Chapel Hill often. The course is in really good shape. When I played a few weeks ago the bunkers needed attention. When I played this week the bunkers were back in great shape. This course offers a challenge for all levels of players. The greens are true and fairways and rough are well maintained.

I wish I lived closer as I would look to join this club.

This is a nice private community type course. Played on a Saturday on a warm day and we never had a beverage cart come by us. There were no water jugs anywhere on the course so come prepared and grab snacks and drinks before the round. We ran across 2 bathrooms but they had code locks on them and we weren't provided with the code so again be prepared. The course itself was a nice layout though our carts had no gps so a lot of guessing on where other players were on the doglegs and hills so be wary. The greens had recently been punched and were rolling pretty good. The fairways and rough were a little on the tall side and some balls just off the fairway were hard to find including a few we had to give up on between our group of 4. The course itself is challenging but does give some nice opportunities to score. The regular rates are a bit pricey for a course with basic carts with no gps and lacking on course amenities. It’s well worth a play but I would definitely try and get a hot deal.

A fair price for course conditions would be $45. Fairways grass was like 1st cut of fringe or maybe even 1st cut of rough long. Deep rough in many place was 5 inches. My group lost at least 10 balls that we should have found. Multiple shots that hit fairway and bounced into rough were lost. Greens were bumpy still recovering from punch… thats fine but at $105 per round not even close. If course was kept in good condition this would be fair price of $75-80.

The course is OK, but the rough is impossible to play from, even right off the fairway. They really need to do some maintenance on the course to make it at least manageable in the rough.

Played Chapel Hills at 1:00 pm on 8/14/26. It was myself and one other friend, and pace was so good, we were never held up. Played a 3 hour round, which could have been 30-45 minutes quicker, had the rough been cut shorter than 4-5 inches. The previous reviews are accurate concerning the rough. You could hit one several feet off of the fairway and while looking for your ball, find 3 or 4 more that people gave up on. You would almost have to step on it to see it. Don't try to get any distance on your shot from there, either.. very humbling. Tee boxes aren't great, but as long as my feet are level, I'm alright. That being said, the fairways are in great shape, and the greens were in good condition, too, especially considering the recent reviews. I didn't come across any diseased or dead spots (all green, no black or sand patches) and they were rolling with some speed. It isn't quite back up to the pristine conditions they usually had back when I was a member 2020-2023, but they are defenitely working on it. It's worth the GolfNow hot deal, for sure. I'll be putting it back into my rotation, and hopefully they lower the height of that rough.

I have played here several times, and it was in good condition. I enjoy playing the course and like the layout a lot. However the greens were very slow and bumpy, almost like they haven’t been cut in a while. Made putting extremely hard to judge. Use a good cutting and cleanup of all the dead grass clippings. Still recommend playing the course.

horrible conditions, poop on multiple greens, 5+ HR pace, rough 5 yds off the fairways and around the greens were way too thick where u would lose your ball / place has gone downhill

I do not recommend this course at all / 5+ HR round, Rough was too thick to find balls even 5 yards off the fairways and right along the greens, aprons of the greens were super long, goose poop on multiple greens
