High Potential
New ownership is clearly investing in this course, and it shows. There’s still work to do, especially with some of the front-nine tee boxes, but the improvements on the back nine are already noticeable.
The fairways were in good shape, and the drainage was impressive considering the heavy rain less than 24 hours before our round. Greens rolled true, though they were on the slow side. Not a complaint, just be prepared to give putts a little extra hit.
My biggest criticism is the rough. It’s currently pretty weedy and inconsistent, which hurts the overall aesthetics. I’d rather see it mowed a bit shorter until it becomes more uniform.
The layout is a lot of fun with a good mix of risk-reward holes. After the renovations are complete, I’d even consider switching the nines. Hole 10 is an outstanding “welcome to the course” hole and would make a fantastic opener.
Keep pushing forward with the upgrades. This course has a ton of potential, and it feels like it’s heading in the right direction.
Nice course
Great course but they were short on carts (keys) for some reason. I would go again.
Play was okay
Course was in pretty good shape except the tee boxes were in bad shape not much grass fairways were very good my guest did enjoy the course and mentioned that it was very hilly
Perfect Afternoon For An After Work Round
I will keep it short and sweet. There has been a ton of work done at this course, and its pro shop, club house and food services. I played the course a few weeks ago and the fairways were not in very good shape. But yesterday? The fairways were lush, green, and very well maintained. This course is 5 out of 5 in my book. My only complaint is, I wish more of my golf group lived closer to this side of town; I think they would really enjoy themselves as much as I did. Well done CCoG
Getting better day by day
Course is improving each round I play here. Thanks for the improvements at the course .
Course in Great condition, check in attendant horrible
The older guy who checked me wanted me to pay $80 despite me having confirmation of payment via GolfNow I had to call GolfNow. This is the 2nd time that has happened with the same staff member. I think they need to to train him on how Golfnow hot deals work as I have never had any issue withthe ither staff members at this course. That took the gloss off an otherwise great round of golf with a lot of improvements on the course being implemented.
Good Course
The layout is nice and the greens are in fairly good shape. Other players beside myself think the price is a little too high at regular price.
T-Boxes and Grill
T-Boxes were in very poor condition. Very disappointing that the grab and go grill was closed when we made the turn around noon.
Slow but the Value is There
Tee boxes are brutal, but the course is in decent shape for the money. Pace of play is slow, but it’s truly slow at every course in metro Atlanta.
Staff were great, course itself is very dry, I’m sure with some rain it would play much better
Way overpriced
$80 is way too much to pay for a course where tee boxes are sand and greens have bare spots and poa Anna infestation.
Also the marshal spoke to us about slow play and said nothing to the members in front of us who were holding us up.
No Bueno
Was greeted in the ProShop by the attendant and he asked “what can I help you with Bossman?” Derogatory. I have never been anyones boss nor will I ever be someone’s boss. I find this demeaning.
The kid did not tell us that it was cartpath only. Course was very dry. Did not have to be cartpath only.
My playing partner today was JIm. Turns 80 in the next month. My golf cart did not work most of the front side. It kept stopping and needed to be restarted. Jim offered to haul me in, but I stayed with this cart. We swapped carts after he finished the ninth hole. When we swapped, I did not grab my beers from the previous cart. W
hen I realized this fact on the 14th hole was when the real fireworks started happening.
Called the Pro Shop to ask if they had my beers and the guy immediately said that they were thrown away. I patiently asked if they could at least check he told me no I was being rude. I explained to the kid that I spent $30 for the 3 beers and would like someone to check.
Then he hung up on me.
A few minutes later I saw the Marshal. Told him the story. He offered to check for the beers. Meantime, the GM came out and asked me about the cart problems. I told him about all of the issues. He somewhat apologized.
When the round was over I stopped by the pro shop to use the facilities before I left and the kid once again confronted me in the pro shop and said I was rude. I told him I would expect a lot better treatment from any establishment calling themselves a “Country Club”.
Absolutely zero drinking water on the golf course. It’s almost 90°.
Sad thing is, last year I played here twice after moving to the ATL and loved it. The latest visit will be my last.
You got offended because someone called you bossman?
