Will come back
Have to come back and play this course again. It’s not hard but if you’re not hitting it straight you can be on the fairway next to yours. If that does happen play it safe. Back 9 can be tight.
Great Course, Especially for the Price
This is a "municipal" course, so to speak, so the amenities were nice, but not spectacular. We found the course very nice and fun to play. the grounds were great, the greens were great. The greens could be a challenge at times given the elevations and placement, but overall they were far above average. We had a great time and will definitely come back. The price/performance was Top 10 for us.
Overall rating, for the price, is EXCELLENT
Half normal course half billy goat hill
Poor pace of play. Mostly fit the time you have to wait for the two groups playing the same hole and every hole you need to drive up ahead to see over the hill and blind spot to see if you can hit. Then drive back to your ball to hit it. Waste of time. Greens are nice but way too difficult for the average public golfer. Fine if you have pros and amateurs there all the time. .
4/5 stars
Course isn’t for beginners, a lot of the fairways you have to hit the ball a decent distance. My biggest knock for the course are two things no driving range to practice and some of the holes are too close to each other. For example if you slice too far left or too far right it will go into another field of play, my friend and I played on a Monday had heard “four” at least 4-5 times, I could only imagine how bad it would be on a busy Saturday
Rude
Sadly I do not recommend this course if you are a minority. They yell at us and said they did not need people like us. So, don’t go there. They are fine if people like us don’t go there. So, just don’t there and let them be.
Staff got my range finder left in golf car
Thanks the girl working at club, she found my range finder left in golf car and went to club house to find me.
Worth the hour drive for me
Played October 2024. I’m really glad I went and am adding to the course rotation. When I first pulled up and saw the first there holes it looked plain, but the course is anything but plain. There are some really inventive holes, some shorter doglegs and some excellent elevation changes. If you put the ball in the right places you can really attack the course. Greens are in great shape, and are challenging. If you are on the wrong side of the hole it can be treacherous.
Bunkers don’t have the best sand, but are definitely playable. Layout on this course is amazing. If it’s your first time, have a gps app because you need to know where to lay up to on some of the trickier par 4s. Overall the course is in great shape. Staff very friendly and I teed off at 2:30 and wasn’t sure I’d finish. Pace of play was really good for a Saturday afternoon, finished in plenty of time before dark (Sunset was around 6:50). Bonus: the restaurant attached to the clubhouse is a nice relaxed place to eat after your round. Very friendly and the fried chicken sandwich was very good.
I live an hour away so I’m not going here wvery week but I plan on playing at least a couple of times per year. It’s hard to book as single but when I saw an open spot I grabbed it and was glad I did.
BEST VALUE IN NC!!!
Great greens great pace of play! Best value I am r seen in NC! Great lay out great golf
Good Time
I just suck but the course is in great condition. Very hard course with changes in elevation. Need to work on the game.
Nice course
The layout and course conditions were very good. The pro shop and grill/bar are very dated but not so important.
Not worth it
The staff weren’t super welcome and zero driving range. Probably one of my least favorite course layouts I’ve ever seen - no markers in the fairway, no signage on where to go next and not a single place to refill your water on a 90+ day. Much better courses in the Charlotte area for less.
That's all the more reason for you to go there!
