Greens
Greens are rolling terrific! There's some aggressive breaks so warm up the putter before you tee it up. Coming from a 1 hdcp....your putting game will be tested.
KMCC
Nicely maintained course
Lots of blind shots
Yardage dial in was difficult… seemed to always play shorter than the range finder…I don’t have slope
No range for warm up; tough for first tee driving
Best case to play with a local to know shot placement and hazards
I’d definitely play again…probably take a few strokes off just knowing the layout now
Fun Track
A fun mountain track, greens were in good shape especially for late Summer. Not much going as far as "mountain views" but was a fun play. Narrow fairways and blind shots are the norm, which was a nice mix compared to a lot of long, wide open just blast away courses. Great value for a fun round. Would certainly go back. Very casual atmosphere.
Pre wedding golf
18 holes before my son’s wedding. The weather was great. The course was challenging. The greens were is excellent shape. There are quite a few blind drives that make the course tricky. I would definitely play here again.
Kmcc
It’s a honest 4 star. You get out super early you can finish in sub 3 hours. Greens are fine, wish they would blow them off after cutting them. Plays challenging enough from the tips. I would say the most annoying thing is that the memebers like playing the back 9 more and will randomly jump you to get in their morning 9 holes in. I will come back and play even with that. It’s pretty decent and a fair price.
Hills and dales and dog-legs
Full disclosure: First time playing any golf course is a challenge, but this course has a number of blind shots from the blue tees. This is not a bad thing, but makes club selection difficult when you are guessing distances and direction. The course layout is fun. Lots of elevated tees, hitting into elevated greens with the occasional blind dogleg. Course condition was good, greens held shots and rolled true. Fairways were well maintained. Only hit one sand shot, but looked like the bunkers needed some loving. Overall, it was a fun day, enjoyable round of golf and look forward to teeing-it-up again at King Mountain. Good bang for the buck!
Hidden Gem
Staff was friendly and helpful. Course was a little confusing on direction of next hole. greens and fairways were in good shape. Played on a Tuesday which must be grounds maintenance day but they were polite.
Nothing to complain about. Even drove over an hour to play the course.
Will be back!
Greens and fairways are in great shape!
My wife and I had a great 3 hour round today. Greens and fairways were better than most courses in this area for July. Layout is a bit tight, but overall we loved it.
