Back after several years
Came back to play after several years absence. Great value. Course is in great shape. Greens roll nicely. Tee boxes are shaping up. Bermuda has come in down the fairways. Bunkers need sand. The layout has always been the courses defense here. Several blind shots and doglegs. But if you can keep it in the short grass and not get too aggressive you can score. Best decision is to throw away the score card and just play for fun.
Great
Most of the Tee Boxes were great, fairways were generally great along with the greens. Back nine certainly more challenging then the front.
Great value!!
Nice course. Greens are in great condition. Some of the tee boxes need a little work but otherwise great shape. The restaurant in the clubhouse is fantastic. Enjoy!!
GREAT Greens - working today n several tee boxes.
Was first one out so no waiting. Greens are in GREAT shape. # 10 is in an interesting place so follow signs coming of 9. You will see the 10 th tee box heading to the fifth tee box - left to the 5 th - right to the 10 th. . Several tee boxes are being worked on heavily. Pro shop staff is very friendly and so is maintenance working around the course. Course is very fair. Several blind tee shots but nothing wild. No really a long course. Fairways still a little spotty but I know in late May and summer they will be very nice. Price is nice. If you are near King’s Mountain I would recommend giving this course a try.
Kings mtn
The Greens are the best part of the course for sure.. Cups don’t look like they have been cut in about two weeks- they were super rounded. Fairways are bumpy and you have a lot of blind t shots. T boxes are starting to green up but a few are terrible.
Real bad pace of play as soon as you hit 14 or 15 the course just bottle necks and you’re waiting forever.
Overall not bad and I’ll continue to play it.
10 handicap review
I’m from from the Midwest and your clubs work different here. Not easy to get behind the ball. It’s hard clay. It was early April, so things change. The greens were faster than expected. Good value for the GN price.
No driving range.
Vacation Stop
First time on the course as I was visiting friends in Charlotte. Liked the hilly layout, but there were a couple of tricky holes on the back nine. Greens were in good shape and could have played a bit quicker. Make sure you ask how to get to 10 if you haven’t played the course before.. Overall, an enjoyable experience. Staff was terrific.
Good Luck First Time Guest
This has to be one of the most difficult courses I have ever played. This course is not for the faint of heart. KMCC is a MOUNTAIN COURSE. Most tee shots were blind, where there is no possible way of seeing the group in front of you. Pace is slowed down exponentially because of this! The back nine is some of the most mountainous terrain I have ever played. The senior tees were literally 150 yards forward in some cases! CRAZY! I found myself hitting in to several groups! Dangerous layout for a weekend hacker to play on!
Although... the greens are pure! So nice! Absolutely beautiful greens! And rolled well. For the member or local resident, this course might be fair... but for the rest of us..... ain’t NO WAY...
Great value!!!
Good deals on Golfnow. Course was fun and good condition. Replay rate was $9 for 9 holes. Bar and restaurant were definitely worth stopping at afterwards. I will be back!!
Beautiful and Interesting
Course was in great condition especially considering the weather lately. Only a couple of greens towards the end that were a little wet, but I was first out on the course at sunrise so they had no chance to dry, otherwise some of the nicest greens around! Really friendly staff too.
Consider holes 1-3 as your chance to warm up because the course gets really pretty and interesting after that with lots of contours to work with. Looking forward to coming back!
Rainy and Soggy
The course was soggy and with the rain I was not able to finish my round
Great course
I love this course. Staff is very friendly and the course is in great shape!
It's ok
Course will be nicer in the late spring summer as the grass is dormant
