Great Course
Awesome atmosphere and staff.
Great course design!
Beautiful conditions for a difficult course
Played here a few times and stopped, now I remember why. While it is a great course, it’s quite humbling as well. The fairways (not all but many) are tight with little room for errant shots. Then, when you get to the greens (which were impeccable), the pin placement and undulations are so tough. A few of the tee boxes could use a refresh (some didn’t even have any grass). I’ll probably wait quite a while before I book another tee time here. Or maybe if my game improves significantly. Our group shot, 93, 96 and 99 where we all are usually low to mid 80s.
Beautiful Day of Golf
We had 4 groups go out, the staff was great and engaging. For me it was the first time playing this course in a year.
The course could use some loving care but with all the rain in the area that may have been difficult.
We went into the clubhouse after our round and had a great time. Staff was attentive and provided great service.
We will be back!
The course was beautiful and well groomed. The cart paths are in need of repair.
Excellent experience
What an absolute joy to play!
As our first experience with this course, I have to say, I could not be more impressed! From the cart amenities to the staff, to the course layout and condition, what a great folding day! I will absolutely be coming back time and time again!
GREAT VALUE
MEMBER AT COURSEN BUT THIS ONE BEST VALUES IN RALEIGH AREA, GREAT LAYOUT AND COURSE REALLY STARTING COME TOGETHWER AAS FAIRWAYS ARE GOOD, GREENS GOOD, WORST THING IS FEW TEE BOXES BIUT NOT ENOUGH STOP FORM PLAYING,
nice course
Tee boxes could use some work, only reason not 5 stars. Greens and fairways 5 stars. Will be back with next trip to pinehurst.
Fun layout
Overall, a pretty good value. Tee boxes were all sand for the most part which was less than ideal. For a hot deal, 40$ seems worth it but I don’t know if you would pay 60+. Greens are well manicured but very slow. The course was in pretty decent shape. Lots of dog legs and mildly narrow tee shots.
Back in Great Shape
In the two years I've been playing this course, this is the best shape I've seen it in. The greens and fairways are in excellent shape and the course has been paying closer attention to the bunkers and getting them treated most days to make golfing a real pleasure. Multiple tee boxes are still in need of attention but they are in the process of cutting back the green collars to enlarge the greens to original size, which will take some time, but will make the course even better and more playable. The staff is always great and friendly and there is progress being made on fixing the old cart paths so a chiropractor visit is not necessary post round. Augustus Grill has fantastic food and beverage and is a gem in the Louisburg/Bunn area.
The River Golf Club
Everything was great about the round and condition of the course except for most of the tee boxes that hardly had any grass on them. We hit mostly off of hard dirt/soil.
Nice course, super staff
I played this course for the first time and had an enjoyable round. The greens were in great shape, albeit quite slow. The fairways were generally very nice, but sometimes a bit bare in areas that should have been the rough. Tee boxes were worn, but playable. Sand traps were a bit of a mess, but some of that may have been due to quite a bit of heavy rain the few days prior to my round. Staff was SUPER friendly - among the best I've encountered. All-in-all, a good value for what I paid and I'd definitely go back there again.
