River Golf & Country Club, The

Pleasantly surprised and will keep in rotation. It’s fall, so the greens are already painted. Overall , the course is in very good shape. The Bermuda rough is still pretty thick. Golf shop and restaurant staff were friendly and helpful

Great course. Randy the head pro is always great. He always asks if I need anything, and always give my group a number to shoot if we are playing best ball. Greens are challenging and it is always fun. Ask about the leprechaun special.

The River is a great golf course, unfortunately with fall coming, the leaves were falling and there was no one out blowing the greens and fairways. There were a few holes with so many leaves on the greens, that it was impossible to putt. Outstanding golf carts with GPS and the staff is friendly, but they need to do a better job this time of year with leaf control.

Randy the pro has gotten this course in wonderful condition. A memorable layout and a course that is laid back and never crowded. Each time I play I notice a new area that is being improved...tee boxes, bunkers etc. Its fantastically quiet (cell phones struggle to get service, which is a plus in my book) and has surprising elevation changes through the round. New restaurant, Augustus Grill is now open on site with a fantastic, friendly staff and excellent grub! You'd be hard pressed to find a better venue or value.

Haven't been here in a few years but this course is still in great shape. I find it pretty difficult but mainly because I'm crappy golfer. Enjoyed the round still!

First time playing this course and had a few coupons to use so booked the morning of. Got to the course and practiced on the range. Beware of the wildlife grazing as there were some baby deer and their mama out for lunch while we were warming up who didn’t seem to be phased one bit. The course layout was great, the holes were very spaced out. Not like some courses where you are right on top each other. Loved having the tips on the Yama track on the cart, it definitely helped! The greens were in great shape. We would definitely play here again

Primary complaint is that the fairways were stone-hard.

Was very impressed with the condition of the course. Greens were pretty fast, most of the tee boxes were great aside from a few, the carts are newer so that was nice too. The range could use a little work and the club house isn’t the fanciest but it’s a great place to play and I will for sure be back!

The overall course was excellent….friendly staff, great grass fairways and greens and pace of play!! A challenging course with plenty of water and sand and narrow fairways and elevation changes ….probably the best course in the area!! As a bonus the golf carts are by far the best in the area 👍🏻

Drove an hour to play and really happy we did. Leave driver in car and hit what ever you can hit straight off the tee! Fairways are great, some tees need a little work but absolutely will be back. Greens putt solid. For a public golf course, one of the better ones around

Great course, greens roll nice but are small, some hard pan/wash out area but great price for a good course, forces you to take something other than driver on a lot of holes

Enjoyed playing “The River” course today. Greens are in great shape as are most of the fairways. Not crowded at all for a weekday tee time of 1:40 pm. Used GolfNow and got a great rate. Will play here again for sure.

Generous fairways, undulating greens and in great shape. I wish I lived closer so I could play it more often. Definitely give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

Overall the course value was good. Some holes were tight and others we open and fair. Course conditions were not great but better than good… greens are in great shape. Some of the T boxes need a lot of work… grass is needed on a few and some were not very flat, creating some awkward T shots.

Fairways were very good but the bunkers we very hard and some were very rocky with small rocks and lots of pebbles.

Staff was great and very helpful. I would play here again and can tell they are making improvements.
