The River is a decent course with an Interesting layout, excellent greens and good fairways, however cart paths and tee boxes need some maintenance.
You’ll have a chance to test out your 3 wood and long irons/hybrids off several tees including the par 5 10th hole as well as a driveable par 4 on the front nine where driver, even from the blue tees would be too much club to hold the fairway/green. If you catch a good deal..less than $20...I would recommend checking it out!
reslly nice!
greens are recovering very well. layout makes you think, fairways are in great shape, new carts and excellent staff.
A nice layout that needs some TLC
I like the layout of the course, some very interesting holes. However, the greens were in terrible shape. They had recently been airified, but even without that there were many greens that had large spots with out grass. The tee-boxes hadn't beeen mowed in quite a while and on many of them it was difficult to find a level spot.
They’re working on it
Always been a challenging course. That’s why I like it. They’re working on cleaning up the greens and bunkers. I like the challenge.
Lousy Greens
Overall the course is challenging with long par 5s. All the greens are dead. It was like putting on concrete. Could not read them and not able to putt softly.
Good layout needs work
The course is very playable for all skill levels. We played as a twosome in about 3 hours. The fairways were playable under winter rule conditions. The greens were extremely fast due to dry dormant conditions. I would play here again and recommend it. They are working to restore this course and make it more playable.
This course has improved tremendously in the last year keep it up!
give it a try
greens were extrrmely fast. fairways and first cuts made it easy to find your ball. big improvement from earlier rounds when many golfers searched too long for errant shots.
It was ok at best
It's winter time, so tough to really rank the course. I did like the layout, but the greens were painted
Great deal
It’s end of January so expectations were low but for $15, it was great. Nice layout and challenging from the back tees. Greens were bumpy and tee-boxes a mess on some holes but overall well worth the drive.
The course has improved!!
The staff is always friendly and welcoming. The greens are quick and fairways are in great shape this course has come a long way in a short period of time! Some othe tee boxes could use some attention but this course is definitely headed in the right direction, I can tell a huge difference in course conditions in the last 6 months. Front 9 is shorter but difficult to score on back 9 is longer but easier to make birdies IMO.
