a Golf Now first
As for the golf course, except for a number of bare/thin spots on the fairways/tees and the greens being recently (late) punched, it was okay and our group had fun. Tees seemed way up from what I remember from previous visits to Pudding Ridge. However, for the first time in my many years of utilizing Golf Now, the very grumpy old fella behind the counter informed me that keys for the carts couldn't be released until 15 minutes before tee time. What??? Why???
The ridge
It's a good value for the hot deal. The greens still haven't recovered from being done. Went out there as a single it was done with the round in 3 hours so It moved at a good pace. overall a good value for the money great value for a hot deal!
ist time issue
I tried to check into the course 50 minutes early to load the cart and hit the putting green/chipping green. My playing partner doesn't walk easily and I wanted to meet him in the parking lot when he arrived. I was informed that they would not give me a cart until 5 minutes before my scheduled tee time to prevent us from going off early. I had no intention of going off early and simply telling me that I was not allowed to go early should have sufficed. We could use the putting green/chipping green but had to walk with our clubs. When our tee time arrived, the course was stacked up on the first tee with a single, our twosome, a foursome, and another twosome. I think this situation could have been handled better. Love this course, it is my Go-to course. Pace of play was under four hours.
Pudding Ridge
Overall Course conditions were about average. Several Bunkers had not been raked in several days and day of play was a Sunday. No mention in advance of a temporary green for hole 15.
Greens Need Help
I haven't played here since the early spring & since that time the greens are in poor condition. The course layout is good, fairways are open, rough is reasonable. The course just doesn't seem to be draining well especially the greens.
The course is a great value and fun to play.
Pudding Ridge is located about 20 minutes west of Winston Salem, NC and was and easy drive. The course conditions were great and the course layout made for a fun round. Changes in elevation and water in play on many holes made the course interesting.
Midwestern review
Nice track. Woman friendly. Excellent condition with interesting routing. Several holes had elevation changes. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.
Solid course
Course in good condition but greens could've been better. Seems like courses with these types of greens sometimes struggle with keeping them smooth. Guess it's the heat. Other than that, have played the course many times and it is consistently reliable for condition and not a bad layout. They also have it priced right for what the golf course is for their regular rate.
Great value and in good condition
Even with all the rain the past 24 hours, this course drains well and carts even allowed on fairways. Only a few real soggy areas. Fairways were in great shape. Some greens a bit wet but fairly true. Cost was much better than most surrounding courses which were cart path only. Would like to see them bring back a few of the sand traps they've let grow back to grass just to add a bit more difficulty.
Nice Course
Well maintained beautiful course...website offers discount tee times without GolfNow fee
Always fun and challenging
Nice staff. Better than average conditions. Needed drinking water/refill coolers on the course for a rather hot July day.
coming back
fun golf course to play and it has some historical markers dating back to the revolutionary war.
Great Course for a great price
Great course, first time playing and was very happy with how it turned out. Perfect Saturday morning and barely had to wait on any shots. Course was in good shape, greens ran great. Tee boxes could be better but didn't really effect my game too much. Will definitely be back, can't find a better value anywhere else.
Great Course
I've played this course many times and it has always been satisfactory for me. The course itself is for sale but the staff and owners have put more time and effort into making the course look in tip top shape for everyone who plays. The course is in the best shape I've ever seen it. I would tell anyone in the area to definitely try it out! One of my favorite courses in the area!!
this course has great features
The course has pro tees and senior tees tees for all age groups.
Great!
Had a blast! Can't wait to get back out there.
Not a Country Club, But!!...
Played the course several times in the past, with no real issues thus far, other than slow play on busy days. That's comes to be expected for this particular course. We got behind a gangsome of about 10 players that played relatively quick, with no more delays than expected. Overall course conditions were okay, all though some holes or fairways were soggy. Some of the tee boxes were "suspect"...No grass, tees moved up or beat-up from play. Would like to see "real sand" in the bunkers, but that can be eliminated by staying out of the bunkers. Best value for the money considering the other other course located nearby. Overall, one of the best deals out for the rate offered.
Terrible experience #2
Some of the tee boxes were not cut, fairways were really muddy, cart died during my 18 hole visit,
Now he did bring a cart out pretty quick, which was awesome,
Terrible visit for the second time I've played there. Didn't even finish 18 holes only played 9 even though I payed for 18. Very unhappy, what a terrible place to play
Nice course close to home
Wanted to try a course close to home and found the deal on golfnow.com. There were a good number of people out on course, but play was perfect for the speed we were playing. Greens were in great shape, very fast and challenging. Tee's were a bit rough, but looked as though they were doing some work for next season.
Nice course and very open, enjoyed the play and will keep on the lookout for more deals.
