course is in great shape
Played here 2 times in the last 2 weeks. The course is in great shape. Lush fairways and true greens. Will definitely play here again soon!
Public Golf = Gold
This course was a very good public facility. I have rarely played a public course in this kind of shape, even the outermost areas were in great shape. The greens putted very well and rolled out.
Average Course
This is an average public course. It would have been nice not to be pushed to hurry by workers at course on the back 9 because the whole course was being fertilized that day. Would have thought that the course would close for the day to fertilize but their last tee time was at 11 am then they started.
1st round in NC!
I had a great round, as a senior I was going out alone but after the 5 th hole an excellent young golfer joined for the rest if the round-- it was very enjoyable since it was my very 1 at round since moving here a couple of weeks ago!!! I plan to continue playing at Monroe CC IN THE FUTURE!!
Thanks for a great hometown course!!!
Awesome!
Great course with an amazing rate! The greens role so fast and pure it's a tough but honest challenge, fairways and roughs are always in great condition. The only thing I would change is there is not really a good snack bar, other than that it will be a regular spot my friends and I to play weekly.
Excellent course and value for your money
I played this course on Wdnesday evening and the course was in perfect condition. The fairways had just enough grass on it and the greens were in perfect condition. We ran into to some high school girls and then let us play thru but not the boys but the overall speed of the round was good. This course is one of the best values around and I highly recommend it. The front 9 are really difficult due to the small greens but offers up a different challange then the back nince. The only negative point that I have about the course is that the driving range is far from the course and not in good condition.
Excellent Value
Wow what a pleasant surprise! I haven't played here in 15 years and forgot what a nice golf course it is. The conditions were excellent. The only minor complaint was inconsistent sand in the bunkers. Some had damp packed sand while others were powdery. Plenty of sand though. Greens and fairways were excellent. Every course should make the switch to bermuda greens immediately! The golf now deal was fantastic. $25 for 18 with cart @ 8:48 on a Sunday morning. I will definitely go back.
Exactly what I was expecting
Played here for the first time Saturday. Had a 9:30 tee time so we were right in the thick of the rush and had to wait some but it wasn't terrible. Fairways are big and inviting and overall the course was in good shape, albeit not very difficult. Only complaint from the group was the sand traps but let's be serious, whose fault is that? For 32 bucks I will definitely be back!
New to game. Back nine very large greens, nice for novice.
Excellent course for the value. Staff friendly and helpful. Greens are in very good shape. Fun course with some easy holes and some challenging ones. One of the best in area and the value is the best for the quality of course maintenance.
Solid Course For The Money
Monroe CC is a very good value for your money. The course is always well maintained. We played on Sunday afternoon and the pace of play was painfully slow. For some reason the starter allowed 3x twosomes in a row instead of pairing them up. Very odd in my opinion. Overall the course is enjoyable and a bit challenging as well. Par 5's are all reachable. Greens are incredibly fast, but consistent.
Well worth the drive from Charlotte
This was my first time playing the course. It had rained the few days before, so the ground was a little wet (which of course is outside of the club's countrol), but other than that, the overall condition was excellent. I usually pay the most attention to the greens, and they were smooth, quick, and rolled true. The course was pretty challenging from the tips with Donald Ross design greens making approach shots difficult. Both staff and golfers were extremely friendly. Overall, a very enjoyable round.
This course is in great shape, a good value and a fair challenge.
The Golf Now rate was a great value for this picturesque course. The front nine is more open than the back nine which was more rolling and tree lined. The back nine reminded me of the northern Michigan courses I have played and I imagine it must be spectacular in the Fall. For a public course, I thought the overall condition of the fairways and greens were quite good. The greens were small and appeared flat but contained subtle breaks. Overall I thought the course provided a fair challenge for the average amateur golfer.
Monroe Course Review
The course is in very good condition and a great value. We played from the senior tees and several the senior tees were moved to the ladies tees which were much too short.
The overall distance listed on the scorecard is much less when the senior tees are moved to the ladies tees.
Please place the senior tees in the correct locations.

Very good course for the money. I enjoyed playing the course and will come back again in the future.
Nice greens
Greens were in great shape. Thought the fairways would be thicker with all the rain we have had hear in Charlotte. Pin placement was tough. I like it that way.
Nice
Nice course in that the play is great. Course is in outstanding shape and challenging. The staff is super nice and relaxed. Food selection is not good and the driving range is a mile away from the club house but all that aside the course is taken care of perfectly.. I will be playing it again because I have to beat the challenges it throws at me., and it's a fun course to play.
Great course
Great conditions, greens were fast but their club championshipwas the next day. Will play again.
Course was good but the carts were in poor condition
We had to change carts after the 9th hole but both carts were struggling to make it through the course.
Monroe CC and oldie but goodie
The Monroe CC is a throw back to traditional courses with heavily tree-lined fairways, terrain changes, and slick undulating greens. It is a fair test of skill: rewarding good shot making while penalizing bad shots. The fairways and greens generally are in very good shape, particularly for a course open to the public. Although the course is a good 30 minutes southeast of Charlotte, it is worth the trip and I have made it several times and plan to make more.
Well kept secret
A great course and a great value. Excellent condition even though the greens were presently top dressed. Great traditional style course. I will definitely return to play this beauty.
