Nags Head Golf Club has a traditional Scottish-links layout that is right at home on the windswept terrain of the Outer Banks. Situated along the Roanoke Sound, the rugged coastline and rolling sand dunes perfectly mimic a classic links landscape. The golf course is a shot maker's layout that will test your skills but it is still player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. You'll need a sharp short game for sure, but you won't need much length on this rather short layout. Some form of water appears on nearly every hole, including some holes that play right along the Sound, and the undulating greens can be tough. It's a challenging-but-fun round that is worth playing for the scenery alone. Unsurprisingly, Nags Head Golf Club is one of the most popular golf courses in the OBX.

Vacation golf

Vacation golf can sometimes be expensive and disappointing. Fortunately, neither one was the case on this round of golf.. the course was in immaculate condition and the people there on staff as usual were very friendly and accommodating. I got a great price from Golf Now. Anytime I go on vacation to. OBX this course is always my first pick. I highly recommend you try this course..

The course was beautiful. Prepaid the day before. Could not get a refund. Arrived to find out the front 9 was closed. Driving range was closed. What I got to play was extremely nice. But, it would have been nice to know when scheduling half the course was closed. There are a lot of nice courses here, could have scheduled for a different day and golfed somewhere else that day.

Have played here several times - always been very windy which makes the course more challenging. Fairways play more narrow because of the wind. Course was in good condition.

golf OBX

Lets start with not much of a range, went to buy balls and they had none. 10;50 tee time and we teed off at 11;30. Course was in decent shape, the greens were a little beat up but rolled alright. Tee shots are tough as the fairways are very tight however not many bunkers and the greens are receptive. Not a great value for the money but not much else around on the strip so it is what it is.

Great views!

Great course to play in OBX. Not the best but definitely not the worst. Shorter course so if you can stay straight you will play good. Greens were pretty slow but for as much play as this place gets course was well kept. Starter was super nice not so much for the pro in the check in shop. He could barely be bothered to say 2 words or offer any type of nice welcoming greeting. Pretty poor when ppl are paying $100-170 a round but oh well maybe the wife cut him off this week so I digress. Got paired with a great guy who had played course before and helped out immensely. Yes I’d definitely recommend this course while on an OBX vacation!

Overbooked and unfriendly

They boom tee times every 8 minutes but cannot accommodate this pace of play. Staff is unwelcoming and just plain mean.

For a vacation golf spot, you’d think they’d be a little friendlier.

This place will succeed despite their negative qualities.

I’d suggest driving a bit further out if you really want to enjoy a round.

Would not recommend.

This course has some of the best views. Several holes on the water. It's a short course but challenging, especially with 15 to 20 mph winds.Got a great deal on golf now and would definitely play again

Great short challenging course with amazing views

Staff was awesome, course was amazing.
