About
Nags Head Golf Club has a traditional Scottish-links layout that is right at home on the windswept terrain of the Outer Banks. Situated along the Roanoke Sound, the rugged coastline and rolling sand dunes perfectly mimic a classic links landscape. The golf course is a shot maker's layout that will test your skills but it is still player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. You'll need a sharp short game for sure, but you won't need much length on this rather short layout. Some form of water appears on nearly every hole, including some holes that play right along the Sound, and the undulating greens can be tough. It's a challenging-but-fun round that is worth playing for the scenery alone. Unsurprisingly, Nags Head Golf Club is one of the most popular golf courses in the OBX.

Short layout, rough course conditions, not my favorite.
Saw the reviews talking about the tough but short layout and those were definitely true due to some decently windy conditions. Majority of tee boxes were cut as long as the rough. Greens and fairway were in acceptable conditions for a $50 course. Staff was less than friendly outside of the cart boy who at least exchanged pleasantries.
Not usually one to leave negative reviews, but the Mickey Mouse layout, plus the conditions and the staff makes me not want to play there again, even if I caught the Hot Deal for $45 again. If I had paid the full $135 price for a morning tee time, I would have legitimately been upset and be looking for a refund after 9 if I had paid full price.

A challenge.
Tight fairways make for a tough coarse. We had a blast as the greens were almost healed from aeration and were rolling nicely.

Nags head Golf links
First time playing this course and i got a hot deal so it was definitely worth the price. The greens were perfect and true. The winds were crazy but I wasn’t surprised since it’s half the holes are next to water

Normally Slow
Course in good shape. Typical vacation golfers. Slow play. 5 hours is to long

Healing up now
These greens will be sweet in about 7 days. Played once Saturday 5/22 greens were fat and slow. Played again 5/25 and they’re already rounding into shape.
All in all a short track but very demanding w ur irons. Never lost so many balls

Great Ocean Course
My wife and I were more than pleased with Nags Head, it was a fun course even though my "A" game was not on. However, my wife played the game of her life. Can't wait to play Nags Head again . . . beautiful course along the Atlantic Ocean.

Woah
I’m a 15 handicap and lost more balls here than I have ANYWHERE else. Greens r a bit slow rn due to aeration? The guys in my group said the greens r usually much quicker. Great track tho. Short par 4s require ur wedge game to be dialed. Come prepared. Sweet course n amazing views. Won’t disappoint.

Gorgeous views
Lovely course in the Outer Banks with stunning holes that run right along the sound. Can be a bit challenging from the tee with what appear to be narrow landing areas but it always seems to open up at the right places. Greens hold nicely and with ample tee placements its great for any level of golfer. I'll definitely play it again the next time I'm in the OBX.

OBX version of pebble beach
Fun course. Wind is a game changer. Definitely shorter course then most. 90 is a little steep but comparable to all the courses in the area. A must do while in OBX if you want to play golf while down here.

I know it's hard to keep a beachfront course in good shape, but they do an excellent job here. Views are stunning. Only wish the brushy/wooded areas beyond the rough weren't so dense, so you had a better chance of finding a ball and maybe making a shot from those areas, instead of giving up on most balls off these sometimes narrow fairways.
