About
Nags Head Golf Club has a traditional Scottish-links layout that is right at home on the windswept terrain of the Outer Banks. Situated along the Roanoke Sound, the rugged coastline and rolling sand dunes perfectly mimic a classic links landscape. The golf course is a shot maker's layout that will test your skills but it is still player friendly enough to appeal to all skill levels. You'll need a sharp short game for sure, but you won't need much length on this rather short layout. Some form of water appears on nearly every hole, including some holes that play right along the Sound, and the undulating greens can be tough. It's a challenging-but-fun round that is worth playing for the scenery alone. Unsurprisingly, Nags Head Golf Club is one of the most popular golf courses in the OBX.

Beautiful layout
Booked as a single. Arrived to a more than friendly bag guy. Set me up with a cart quickly. Went into the pro shop. Found a not so friendly pro shop worker. Seemed like i was putting him out signing up. Asked if i could hit some range balls. His answer was he didn’t have any as cold as if i asked him for a loan. The starter was very friendly as i got out earlier than booked. Course was in great shape the greens were amazing outside of the fact that no one seems to fix ball marks these days not the clubs fault. . The course ranger made a few visits to check on us. Played in about 4 hrs. Course is short but challenging. Will play again in the future. 19th hole bar tender was friendly and alert. Over all worth the price.

Over Booked
Reserved a higher priced morning round only to start 20 minutes later than tee time and still had to wait at every hole....6 hour round!

Bring a Rangefinder
The course was beautiful and the staff was nice but if you don’t have a rangefinder you will never know the distance to anything which is very much needed on this course.

Nags Head Golf Links is always a fun part of vacation but at these prices they need to have a driving range available.

Good layout
Always in great condition. Short but challenging. Wind can make it very difficult.

Not worth $80
I get it , your paying $80 for the scenery. We were late due to construction and the starter was very rude!
Fairways had zero markings and your hitting blind shots 75% Of the time.
Fairways needed mowed and greens were some of the slowest I’ve ever played on.
Very tight and narrow fairways. Definitely a precision shot course and keep your driver at home if your a long ball hitter! I would play this course again now that I know what I’m in store for.
