Crystal Coast Country Club
About
The Crystal Coast Country Club sits along the Bogue Sound, sprawling across sand dunes and weaving through the Maritime Forest. The club boasts the only golf course on the 21-mile island of Pine Knolls Shores. At just over 6,000 yards from the back tees, the course doesn't have the length that some other championship layouts have but there are still plenty of challenges in store. In addition to bunkers that are strategically placed along the small greens and narrow fairways, water comes into play on 13 holes. Though there are some tight spots that can be tough to navigate, the golf course is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy. Regardless of ability, you'll be able to enjoy beautiful scenery, especially on the back nine where you'll have the best views of the Sound.

Great greens
I have played here occasionally for twenty years. The recent (3 years or so) are nothing short of amazing. The greens are really firm and lightening fast making chipping and putting very challenging. Though fairly short in total length the approaches keep the play quite interesting. Views are generally beautiful considering the home encroachment and loss of old growth trees over time. Fairways are just beginning to lose the summer lushness but still allow the ball to set up nicely in the fairways and nestle into the rough. I highly recommend this even as a destination course for the opportunity to play.
Crystal Coast Golf Course
We’ve played CC many times.. They have done a lot of work landscaping & work on the course. CC also has a brand new clubhouse. I think the course is n the best condition I’ve seen n many years. It was a very enjoyable day.
New and better
From my last time I played this course until today, there is a major make over! The course requires a variety of shot making to challenge your golfing skills. I loved playing here!
Beautiful
I went to the coast for a nice break from reality and decided to get in a round of golf. I am new to golf, and this course was perfect. It had enough obstacles to challenge me but not too many to overwhelm me. Next time I am down there, I am definitely scheduling another tee time for this course.
Challenge
It’s a short course but the narrow fairways and tough greens make for a fun and challenging game.
Strange Experience
I’ve played this course probably 10 times and have loved it every time. Today was weird and wildly uncomfortable. It was just me and my girlfriend today. My girlfriend just rides in the cart and drinks her white claws. She wore a lulu lemon tank top because it was 85 degrees out. The golf pro gave her an incredibly difficult time. Not once but 3 times. I understand this is a country club and people pay a lot of money to be members here and wait on a list to join. I worked at an exclusive club in Raleigh, NC so I get it. My disconnect and anger stems from the fact that this is the beach and nobody cares. Get over yourself. Moral of the story is don’t play here if you want to have a casual and comfortable time golfing with your lady.
Retiree
Loved the course and conditionswere great! Only negative for me was the cart I had. Lost GPS updating feature and had to manually pick the hole throughout the front 9. Cart frequently stopped in the middle of fairways and received a message .my cart was disabled for being in an unauthorized area - but I was not! Very annoying.
Nice island track
With a limited amount of space this is a well put together track..Lack of space lends to interesting routing especially on first 4 holes but all in all a fun and somewhat challenging play.Every employee I encountered was friendly and helpful. If I lived in this area I’d certainly consider membership. Will play again if in the area.
Course condition was excellent
I traveled 3 hours from Wake Forest NC to meet up with my son who was staying at the coast. We booked the tee times through GolfPass without knowing anything about the course. The course was in great shape and you can tell the current owners have made a substantial investment in the course. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in excellent shape. The price was unbeatable for this nice of a course. Even though the course plays just 6,000 yards, it is challenging because of water, narrow fairways on some holes and tree placement. You can't overpower the layout. I'm a mid to high handicapper but no matter what your handicap is I guaranty you will enjoy Crystal Coast. The staff is very friendly and the golf course is very scenic. I can't wait to go back!
