Not worth it.
I’ve played better greens at 9 hole Par 3 courses in the area. Course was over-sold and packed. Definitely not worth the fees we paid.
Greens in bad need of repair
I was told at the start the holes 10 and 11 were 2 putt limit due to construction. You could have said that for every hole as the greens are in pretty bad shape.
A good day for golf!
The weather was perfect. We played 18 holes in 3 hours and 5 minutes. Some of the greens have some damage, from the summer and are filling in nicely, but they told us about them in the clubhouse. The staff is always great!
Look for another course in 2020
This course was in pretty good shape back a couple of months ago when I played, however it has gone completely downhill from Summer until now. Greens are horrendous as players don't fix divots and about half the greens have dry patches, sand, and other issues. So don't expect to work on your putting. Also, I know they have been extremely busy so expect to wait 5-10 minutes at each tee.
Don't pay full price for this course the rest of the year, players should be getting discounts for playing on these conditions. Hopefully they can get it in better shape for 2021 because it can be a nice course that is centrally located around the RDU area.
RGA Greens in Horrible Shape
Fairways were good, but the greens were horrible. Pock marked, thin spots, unrepaired ball marks everywhere. It made putting almost impossible.
Nice, but short
Course in pretty good condition for season, except for 3 greens that were in very bad condition and being repaired. 2 issues with course. 1. Course plays pretty short even from the Blues. At least 2 of the par 5s would be par 4s in Michigan courses. 2. Front 9 has an area where many holes come together. Feels like you are playing into a crowd.
Greens
70% of the greens were overgrown, covered in sand or a combination of the two.
Love RGA but they should cut the price of 18 in half due to the state of the greens as they attempt to grow new grass.
Frequent Guest -won’t be back the remainder of the year.
Some greens are atrocious, which we were warned about upon check in. But all greens are barley up kept. Par 3 greens are in better condition than today.
The pace was slow as can be. You would have people hitting into you, but if for some reason you got all of a shot (which never happens) then the group ahead would confront you even after multiple apologies (happened on 1 hole). There was a very “Bro” feeling while playing today. “I can rush you, but I’m gonna take my time. If you rush me then we will argue.”
I have enjoyed RGA as a golf now booking and as a Guest of others, but won’t be back for quite some time. The only thing that makes me feel bad about this review is the staff is amazing, but they can’t control of a ranger is staffed on a holiday.
Nice layout. Fun course to play
This course has been around a while. Conditions are OK. Some greens need work, but most are OK. Course is short with many doglegs, so best for short hitters like me. A big hitter would often leave driver in the bag, or maybe have a run at driving some par4 greens, but the course is usually jammed, so waiting for a green to clear would not work. Today, the back 9 was closed, so all play the Stockholder 9, normally reserved for members. This is a good value. Nothing I would be super critical of or over the top excited about.
Greens are in terrible shape
I realize nature and other factors can be involved. But 27!holes, 9 were closed. The greens were under sever repair and not one true putt on any. Course needs to advise prior to going out. It affected the entire round. Would not recommend until this is fixed
Course under repair
Back nine is closed so you play front nine and stockholders. The greens are in terrible shape. Pace of play was bad because it was backed up and the stRter allowed singles to go out instead of putting them with a group. I will not play here again until construction is done and it has improved.
Some Greens Under Repair
Though there were a few greens under repair, the course was in good shape overall.
The greens are in really bad shape, some had very little to no grass, hard to get a true putt. Course is in good shape, just the greens need a lot of work, not till next year.
SMH
I have lived in wake county for over 30 years. RGA is on of my favorite courses because it convenient, layout and course conditions. This past weekend I was in shock because of the course condition. We played 18 but I believe only one green was in decent condition. Not sure what's going on but I hope they care of it quick. I'm not returning until they get it right.
As always it was great to see Robert. He always provide great customer service.
Course was in a really bad shape.
I’ve played at RGA several times and usually the course is ok. You tend to expect an average course base on what you pay. Today was pretty bad. Round was more expensive than what they average charge and the greens truly were in the worst shape imaginable. Some greens had so much sand that it felt like you where not in the green but in a bunker. Hopefully they try to fix this in the next couple of weeks. I suggest to skip RGA for a month or so to let the greens get in a better shape.
Traditional design, friendly people.
Pace of play was average with about 4 hours 10 minutes. Fairways in decent shape. Some of the greens and t-boxes need serious TLC.
