Coarse is excellent with the exception of the rough is too high, and hard to find the golf ball.

The course is open and not terribly long which makes it very friendly to the average golfer. The back nine is slightly more challenging than the front, and gradually they are making overall improvements to the traps and greens (although the hot summer is especially tough on the greens).

Very enjoyable round of golf! Overall course conditions pretty good for time of year. Wish the golfers would repair their golf marks on the greens and demonstrate better golf etiquette when hitting into your fairways.

I often golf as a single and as a result I meet very nice people. Sometimes it isn't busy and I end up playing a round on my own. Either way, RGA accommodates both. The friendly staff are helpful and very accommodating. In this last round, I ended up meeting two very kind gentlemen who invited me to play with them as the pace of play was slow and it was going to be difficult for me to play through. We ended up enjoying our golf round so much we continued on and played 18. The course was in good shape. RGA is convenient for those who live in Raleigh and you can definitely get in 18 in under 4 hours on less busy days. The only thing is the price

Tee boxes in poor condition

Cart paths very bad, which seems to be a common problem at many courses. Using asphalt was less expensive than concrete when courses were built, but affected more by pine tree roots, than concrete. After years of neglect, there's definitely a reluctance to fix them now

The course is decent, however the greens are awful! The fairways are in good shape. But the greens ruined it for me.

The greens were in horrible conditions. I am thinking this was why it was only $28. People playing this course need a lesson on ball mark repairs. I would not recommend this place until they fix the greens. Tee boxes weren't much better

RGA is close to where I live so I play it from time to time just because it is close by. I really do not care for it much. It should be a really nice course, but it has been neglected for too long. The cart paths are the worst in the area. The tough is crazy tall. They even had a sign up the stated they did not have enough funds to care for the course properly. I believe it! There are nicer courses in the area. The services where ok But the greens were not in the best of condition. Cardinal CC which probably has less of a budget than RGA has nicer greens and tee boxes. I don't get it.

Short notice tee time and $24 with cart was a good deal for a morning round. Pace was great, finished in just over 3 hrs, only waited for mowers on a few holes. Greens and tee boxes in fairly rough condition, but playable. Would play again, but not as a first choice.

Greens are suffering greatly from the heat, but lots of watering has made them soft. Fairways in good shape considering.

Front 9 very short and easy, challenge rises after you make a very perilous crossing of busy Tryon Rd.

Pace of play on a Wednesday was great...and that made it a very enjoyable round...espcially when you figure in the GolfNow rate.

I just started playing RGA course this summer. I was actually surprised at the excellent condition and the space in-between tee times. I am not a slow player by any means, but I hate being pushed because of close tee times especially when I have my son with me who is a junior player. The price is great and the staff has been friendly each visit. I have played the course 8-10 time in the past two months and here is what I love. When I pull into the parking lot and park my vehicle a young man meets me at my vehicle each time with a cart, loads my clubs and updates me on the course conditions. Always answers "yes sir & no sir" very polite. Great smoothies!

They might as well not have greens. Almost every one was in horrible condition - even the practice chipping green. Something has radically changed in the course condition/management over the last month or so.

Title says it all. McConnell golf (Raleigh Country club TPC Wakefield, Treyburn) has taken over management of this course, yet the greens are in a shocking state. Water has been enough for great conditioned fairways, but the (bent?) greens are toast. Lots of bare dirt, weeds and traffic damage made putting more of a guessing game. I've played RGA once or twice a year for the last 27 years and can't remember seeing them in this kind of shape. No notice when booking or warning from the clubhouse, just the shock of unplayable greens.

Ranger noted slow play ahead of us, but was unable to do anything about it. Overall a shame, because I like playing this course occasionally. Expected better from new management. Maybe it was too late in the growing season for their team to have any effect on conditions.

Greens damaged and stressed from the heat and not very smooth & full of I repaired balls marks.

Cart paths are horrible, for example on a typical hole you get 300 feet of very bumpy cart path, then 250 feet dirt & gravel, then more cart path. It's like that on almost every hole.

Won't be going back at any price.

Course was in very good condition. There was not a lot of people playing so the course playtime was comfortable. Course was challenging yet fun to play.

Greens very patchy and it seemed like several people weren't replacing their divots. Other than that, the fairways were in great shape. The rough on some holes were very overgrown which called for buried lines and some challenge.

I have been playing this course for over 8 years. It is not difficult, it isn't the best or prettiest - but it's a great course for weekend hackers like myself. Management has been taken over by McConnell Golf and the course looks the best it has since I started playing there.

Since the course management changeover, this course is 100% improved. The greens are in tip top shape, the fairways are improved, the rough is better managed, and you get the first impression that you are arriving at a golf club, not some run down muni. If you haven't teed off here in a while, you'll be surprised. Now just expand the food service, put in some on course bathroom facilities, and give me a draft craft after my round, and you'll get my membership.

I would definitely recommend checking this one out. Ultra short on the front nine, but some great holes on the back. I think I will play better just knowing where the holes go next time.

Fairways lush and greens in good shape for bent in the summer. Pretty slow greens when we played on Sunday. Very enjoyable.
