Saturday afternoon and pace of play was great
Good course, there are more demanding courses in the area, but the greens are well kept and the pace of play was great - no waiting on any tee on a Saturday afternoon - enjoyed the day with my son.
Good winter golf
greens in good shape. Some work needs to be done on cart paths
RGA is an open friendly course especially for Seniors. It is challenging enough for lower handicappers and fun for higher handcappers.
RGA is a very good golf course for all levels of golfers. It offers links that are very different in design and challenge.
RGA A old classic holds its own
RGA is a older course but what it lacks in new gimmicks it makes up for with old tricks. It has many elevated greens with false fronts that require carry and a couple challenging long Par 3's. The greens will hold you attention...a lapse in concentration will quickly leave you in 3 putt city. The conditions are very acceptable for winter golf and they do a good job of keeping the fairways playable. Having witnessed many of the older tracks falling to development and being lost forever except in memory (RIP Cheviot Hills CG) I cherish time spent on the classic tracks when the opportunity comes available. I hope RGA will last for future Generations to enjoy.
One last note...The club-house personnel here are some of the nicest in the area. I had a issue with my playing partner having to leave the course due to a family issue before his round really even started. The course issue him a voucher after I told them of his plight. Class act by the kind Gentleman running the desk & just one of the things that keeps RGA on our groups radar in the future.
Course was in the best shape of any course I've played this year.
I've always liked this course, but I would never play there on a weekend. It is way too crowded.
Great course at a great price! Really good greens for cold weather.
Played with 2 friends and we all enjoyed the course. We will be back.
Great public course, good vibe, walkable
The course is in very good shape of late.
I like that it is easy to get on the course (don't need to book a tee tie in advance... just show up). I've played a few times, and even on weekends there was no wait to get out. Sometimes I even got out as a single, and made it through the course walking in 3.5 hours, 3 hours riding. Nice pace.
Not too punishing. There are a few water and woody holes, but small mistakes can be overcome. (I hate the courses where even a slight mishit tee shot means you're ball is gone in deep woods or unplayable rough)
It's a no-nonsense course... clubhouse is full of friendly people, but not exactly a fancy facility. I prefer it that way.
Good Coourse
The course was not busy. It was quite cold. It was great to move at a good pace - no back up or anyone chasing your tail. The course is in good condition. Greens are really green and well maintained. Great course. Will play again.
Mixed Greens
Preface: The weather was a gloomy cold with a little rain, but fairly windy. Played the front 9 and the stockholders 9. The back 9 was closed.
The course seemed in good shape with the exception of the greens. The front 9 greens were rouch and seemed uncut and unrolled. Made putting no fun. Pretty much just had to aim at the hole and hit it hard no matter the distance. The stockholders 9 was a different story. The greens were fast, or at least seemed that way after 9 fuzzy slow greens previous. The stockholders 9 has so much more character to it as well.
Merci HOT DEAL
Great Value
I love this course. It is a great value on Golfnow.com. Greens were in great shape and the staff is very friendly. I will be back again!
Greens need work
Have played RGA in the past and was extremely upset at the condition of the greens. Somebody needs to teach the player to fix ball marks.
First time not disappointed
Greens had just been aerated and were a bit shaggy but overall course in great shape - once we got ahead of the slowest foursome ever we made great time - no Marshall patrolling to speed things up -
Like RGA - nice course with varied holes
Played on a weekend, but starter sent us off back 9 so we went round nine in 90 minutes. Not so lucky next nine 2 and half hours. Ranger did go and talk to the guy who was taking 6 practice swings and multiple balls or would have been longer.
Good course conditions, varied holes keep you thinking, recommend it (but not on weekend mornings).
Why does Golf Now have nothing between playing once a month and once a week in their review options.
RGA
Great course to get in a quick round. Variey of holes was nice. Old style feel with tee/green proximity close. Will definitely play again. Would be great for beginning golfers due to lack of hazards and wide open feel.
In good shape
Overall a good course. Didn't quite know what to expect but was pleasantly suprised. Play was smooth and the course was in good shape.
This course is just right for the average golfer.
This course is wide open, not to long, in good condition and reasonably price making it just right for the average golfer.
Fun course to play
This is a good course. Great condition. Nothing fancy just well tended course. Not too long or tight. Played with my son and it was great because it was wide open and not too hard. Good place to go walk nine. Really enjoyed it.
Great friendly course
I've played the course a few times with business associates and have enjoyed the experience. The past couple of times I've played I went out after work and was able to joint with a pair of others. Both times the staff was friendly and the groups I've played with were very welcoming.
One comment - starter was a little too into the job. Maybe relax a little.
Overall Fun Time
