Outstanding for a Saturday morning
My 4some was pleasantly surprised. Had a great time.
Disapointed Bumpy Greens
Aerated greens made it a disappointment but the rest of the course s great. The staff has always been great.
We'll wait before coming back;
We are sorry about the aerated conditions, as we are trying to maintain the course to the best of our ability. Be sure to check in with our pro shop staff or our tee time notes and icons for further information on aeration periods! We are glad you enjoyed the rest of your experience and can't wait to see you back!
just areated
course was just areated. it would be nice we we were informed before booking . pace was horrible the day we played for a week day.
Thank you for taking the time to review our course, Rob4223650. We do apologize that you were not informed of the aerated conditions prior to play, and we would like to discuss this further with you if you could reach out at raleighgolfassociation@gmail.com. We hope you will be back to give us a try in improved conditions!
RGA should close.
TERRIBLE!!!!!! Worst course. Greens suck. Too cheap to mow rough. We were told this by two employees.
We are genuinely sorry to hear about your experience and would love to hear from you offline at raleighgolfassociation@gmail.com to further discuss your round. Thank you for your time!

Very Disappointed with the conditions of greens and the watering of the greens during the afternoon
Used to be in great shape!
The fairways were not consistent and the greens were extremely slow. Some crabgrass remnants in the greens. No consistency from hole to hole.
Not a good value
For $50 I expect a certain level of quality. The greens were in poor condition. No beverage cart. No driving range. No ranger. This course should be charging $30 for 18 holes.
Greens are in poor condition - pass on this if you like to putt on good greens
Was in town for business and was looking to play a few courses. Choose this course due to tee time (was looking to get in a early round). The staff was friendly and got me out quickly. They do not have a driving range, only a short game area. The most disappointing part of this course where the greens. It was evident that the greens had not been cut that day (and maybe in a few days). I had practiced at Lochmere Golf Club the day prior and the difference between the greens was night and day.
These greens where so slow you could not read them or even try to play a break because they where so much like putting on grass that had not been cut. If you're a lower handicap and looking for greens that can test your putting skills, I would pass on this course. Might have been just the fact that they had not been cut in a while but really no excuse for these conditions. I played about 7 holes and then decided to leave and go back to Lochmere to work on my game.
Great staff, but slow play
Very friendly staff. Course is in good shape, though greens were a bit bumpy in spots (people need to fix their ball marks).
Play was slow ,but picked up on the back.
Bad experience.
Need to cut the grass. Didnt enjoy the greens. Friendly staff. Played here before where the greens were in better conditions and the grass was cut.
It Is What It Is
It's RGA. For under $50 on a weekend morning, there aren't a ton of options in the area, and it's a short drive away. Our twosome was paired with another and teed off on time. Never had to wait for anyone ahead of us and didn't have anyone pressing from behind except for a couple holes. The fairways were a little thin and hard in places, and the rough was either thin or swallowed your ball -- not much in between. Almost looked like they were trying to grow the course out to look like Lonnie Poole in places -- tall native (or ignored) grass and bermuda literally 10" deep (behind green on 16). Most of the greens were covered in ball marks, as well as being soft, hairy, and slow. Pretty much what you would find at Knights Play or any course with beginners and weekend hackers. To be honest, it was sort of a last resort, and that's about the only reason I'd choose to play it again.
Not well maintained
The cart paths were in very poor condition and grass not well tended
Budget golf
Nice place to play, if your expecting pro conditions. And among us is a pro? The greens had some crab grass, traps were nice & fairways acceptable.. I would play again if price was under $30
Great from the Gold Tee
Course had been punched on greens and holes were ragged in cut but overall good condition. Will play again. Rangers can help slow play as new players don't know or don't care about holding up play or let you play thru. Three carts and 4 players holding up three players. All about me these days.
nice course slow greens
Played RGA for the first time. Very scenic tract, in nice shape (tees and fairways are Bermuda; terrain is rolling, not flat), greens are bent grass) but greens are very slow. I think the course must have to keep the greens long in this very hot, humid weather (97 yesterday with heat advisory). First 13 holes are fun. Last 5 are the most demanding and over undulating, hilly terrain. Nice staff. Recommend playing.
Nice course for the money
One of the nicer public courses in the Raleigh area. Affordable and in good shape. It was a fun round.
Easy course fun to play.
The course is short with very very slow greens. It allows you to play very aggressive. The rough is a little overgrown but still reasonable. Staff was great and pace of play was good as well.
Rewarding
Got a nice "Hot Deal" and had a really nice time at RGA. Grass in the rough was high and unmowed for too long and made for a few lost balls that shoul have been found.
We're so happy to have surprised you, JFount1952! Have your foursome back to play with us again soon, we can't wait to have you!
