Nice round, but wet ground
Played a couple of times. Course is generally in pretty good shape. But winter conditions are never very good. Ground very moist and grass dormant so many shots are like hitting off bare ground. Probably nature of late winter/spring golf.
For a course so close to town, plays like a course in the country. Lots of trees, never feels congested and very few holes where a poor shot puts you in another fairway.
Staff very helpful and this will continue to be one my primary courses in the Raleigh area.
Equality and respect
The starters are always rude and very inconsistent when getting you off the first tee. They tell you where you are position in line and then reverse their decision. They slide another group in front of you. The rangers always follow people of color around the course and constantly are reminding them of guide lines that has been previously explained at the first tee. They constantly stop you while driving by everyone else.

Greens need work
The greens were fairly quick but they had small weeds growing in and knocked putts off line. They did hold my approach shots well but could have made a few more birdies without the stuff popping up.

moderate players
this course is ideal for mid level players and usually in pretty good shape. the greens were fast. All and all a great value. an even better value during the weekday.

Great time...
Great time despite the rainy conditions. Staff was professional and courteous as always. Will be back definitely, hopefully with better weather.

Winter Golf
Wil Mar is one of my favorite courses in the area. I love the layout of the course. It’s not overly long and difficult but fun for all levels of golfers. The greens are in fantastic shape and pretty fast, even with all the rain and the cold weather. The course was cart path only and very very wet in areas but we’ve had a ton of rain lately.
For the money, this is my favorite course in the Raleigh area.

Slow pace
It's December so why have tee times before 9: 00 Knowing you're going to have a frost delay and have cart path only play, hour after my tee time and slow play only got nine and would not give a credit for nine cuz I booked on golf now.

I had golfed there before good starter. To day I was thirty minutes late because I had to schedule a tooth extraction with an oral surgeon. When I got there my friend was just teeing off. after I checked in and went to the starter I ask him if I could advance to meet my friend and he said I could not golf with five, Bastardly SOB. The only reason I went there was to play with my friend. So I crumpled my receipt and tossed it on the ground. As I left I said I will never golf there again. And I mean it. So I went to my home course and golfed there.
