Fairway weeds. Not every hole was this bad, but most holes had some form of this. Even some greens had stuff like this. Photo submitted by blamege on 09/19/2022

Needs some amenities
I think this is a private club that has just recently begun to open up to daily fee players.
I played the Creek course. It's a good layout and is in wonderful shape. The traps do have a lot of Carolina river sand in them which means pebbles and rocks as well as sand. But, that's what you get in this part of the world.
A major improvement would be course documentation. Course maps and yardage books are not available. Signage is at best minimal. I was lucky enough to play with some fellows that knew the course so I didn't get lost.
I would like to go back and play this course and the Lake course.
First Visit to the Creek Course ... Nice layout
My wife and I grabbed a golfnow hot deal for Carolina Trace Creek course. We were the only people we saw until we got to 17. (There was a women's US Open qualifier on the lake course.)
I was pleased. Some greens had issues with Poa (have seen a lot worse) and some of the fairway grass needed some attention. Overall, the course was in good shape. The fairways are narrow with a lot of elevation changes ... suprising for this part of NC.
Very nice clubhouse at the end of the round.
Carolina Trace, Great shape!!!
This was my first round after a 6 month Canadian winter layoff. The greens were perfect, running about 10. Fairways, tees & all other course conditions were great. A fair test of golf, not to demanding, but a challenge. I'd definitely play it again in the future.
Creek
For this time of year the course was in excellent shape. Greens rolled nice and true.
Great course
Golf after lots of rain
Course is good shape considering amount of rain. Fairways over seeded and too wet to mow.Recognizing that it was not the best conditions, we were pleased at a round at this course. Will return soon. Great place to play and, not far from RTP area.
Classic Course Fun to Play
I loved the design Each hole was unique and fun to play. 1st 2 greens a little rough but they are renovating the other course. Good putting green and practice area The par 3's from the tips are difficult. Will play again and bring my 2 sons.
A nice day at the course!
With the exception of the greens the course was in a very good condition and although the greens were not in a great condition they were good enough to have a good putting day and a pretty good time at the course my wife and I had a very good time and the people we've came in contact with while playing were great! Thank you very much!!!
Need all 14 clubs! Rough is Tough
Had a great time. Nice Course. Rough was Tough period!! Not as tight as reviews suggest but not wide open either. Anthony in the pro shop was outstanding! He made you feel welcomed and I felt like I was a member there. Very talkative and I wish more courses had people like him working in the pro shop. Very nice course. Some greens are real small also. Played from the back and there are a few carries and water hazards along the way.
Needs TLC
Maybe it's the time of year but the greens were in bad shape. Too many bare spots made the putting a bigger challenge than it should have been. Played the creek course as the Lakes side is under construction. Keep it in the fairway cause the rough is a real challenge. Ball sinks down and disappears. This is not a criticism just stating a fact.. Overall the course is picturesque, the housing does not intrude onto the game, staff and facilities available if needed, but conditions were marginal.
Course is great
Course is excellent and we can't wait for the lake course remodel
I love this course
I can not complaint anything. green speed layout rough fairway all good.
Greens not what I expected
I have always wanted to play here but when it was exclusive I did not know anyone that was a member. When the Golfnow offer came I thought this would be a good opportunity to play one last time before my surgery. When I arrived there is a lot of construction going on, the Lake course is being redone and will be closed for a while. My club pro at Pine Hollow told me that the greens had be updated to mini-Verdi Bermuda and the practice green was. I was surprised to find that the greens on the Creek course were bent grass. They were in pretty good condition but we were told later that they were over 30years old. The course was in ok condition but not what I expected for it to be a country club. We were told that the Lakes course would be much improved once open and it would be open to the public.
Great layout and course overall
Enjoyed the course, as always and was glad to have gotten a great rate using the GolfNow HotDeals....can't wait until they complete the renovations on the other course, as I expect that will be even nicer! Thank you.
The greens need work.....
All in all a positive experience and at a discount rate I would make the hr drive and play again. If I was paying the house rate........I would stay at home.
The overall course was very enjoyable. A number of solid golf holes and most laid out in a manner that you could see what the hole involved.
There were a couple of tee boxes that I were odd...... one slid well off the the left leaving you close to nowhere but right to play to. A second on a par three was set up to the far left with a extreme left pin placement that you almost almost could not see behind a stand of trees. Not everyone can turn a nine iron right ot left....reflected in ALL of the divots on the tee box pushed to the right hand tee marker.
The big issue...... the greens...... Bent greens in the summer in North Carolina Sandhills or Piedmont are a greenskeepers bain. These were no exception. In many places it was almost down to mud. The good news ...with all the watering they get they were VERY receptive. Now if we could just get more people to repair ball marks!. The rest of the course was in pretty decent shape....... not perfect but good. The greens just subtracted from the experience . The Lake course was closed for major repair.... I left wondering if they were going to switch it over to dwarf Bermuda which I would be in favor of. The creek course would benefit from a similar upgrade. The sort of change could require some tree work to open things up for Bermuda growth.
Two other elements ......don't even think about walking......several green to tee transitions take a while even by cart. Stock up on snacks.....the routing does not return you to the clubhouse at the turn.
Great course and vslue
Took my dad out for Father's Day. Course was in good condition, no hesitation to play here again. Challenging layout with tight fairways and smaller protected greens. Very challenging and a great value. Look forward to playing here again soon.
Well maintained course!
I played the lakes about 2 years ago and enjoyed the challenge. The Creek was a great layout with well guarded greens that were tight and had challenging pin placements. I would certainly play either of the 36 holes again!
great layout
was a great experience! has very good holes!it is a must play if u like a great course!
Course has great views and good challenges.
Greens were not as well maintained as one might think, but overall they were in good shape. Great value for the money and would definitely play here again.
Excellent condition and very well kept. Lake course is challenging if playing the proper tees
Would recommend to everyone! First time players should play one tee up. Par 3's are best in Sandhills.
