Fairway weeds. Not every hole was this bad, but most holes had some form of this. Even some greens had stuff like this. Photo submitted by blamege on 09/19/2022

Golfer Reviews
Damp, great challenge
Course was damp considering not much rain recently. Bunkers in super shape. A few picturesque holes you will not forget. Greens smooth, but slow compared to other courses in area.
Challenging but not draconian
Solid layout, not surprising given it's an RTJ design. Pricing fluctuates wildly; I played for under $50 but there are days when all GolfNow fees for the same track are $100+. Definitely NOT a $100 course but fertainly eorth $50.
Love trace
If the prices were lower during peak summer I would play this course regularly, challenging, fun and long ⛳️⛳️⛳️⛳️
Carolina Trace Creek
I enjoyed the course. The only complaint is that 17(?) of the 18 holes all had blue flags on the green which according to the sign just outside the clubhouse, means back of the green. But the blue flags were in the front, center, and back of the greens. Not a huge deal for my game, but made it a little more difficult to decide on a club if it wasn’t clear where the flag was. I only recall seeing one other colored flag (white) which was on the 18th hole. And white should have been middle but this white flag was front. Just made it a little more difficult than it probably should have been and definitely didn’t jive with what the sign outside the clubhouse showed - red front, white middle, blue back.
Beautiful day
Had a great day . Fun group and course was in good shape after a week of ultra cold weather. Cannot wait to come back.
Good conditions for a winter golf day. Course was enjoyable and fair but sufficiently challenging as most RTJ courses are.
Great course poor maintenance
I loved the layout but the course from tee and including greens were covered in pine needles and oak leaves. I guess the course doesn’t invest in blowers. We played the Creek course As we were leaving we pasted by the lakes course and didn’t see a single leaf anywhere. Do they treat the creek course as their lost child and don’t take care of it.
Great course
Greens are in shape and staff very friendly. Can’t wait to play here again
Love Trace!
Greens were a little hairy but just slower than “lightning fast” this past summer. I am always happy at the Trace. I prefer the creek course but the lake is as good as or better.
Interesting but needs work
Good course with a lot of potential. Beautiful day but lots of repair spots and bunkers were a disaster. Unplayable. Lots of debris from a storm but that was two weeks ago. Will try it again in a few weeks as I just moved to the area.
Creek course review
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The course was empty, so pace of play was excellent. However, the cart path was extremely rough with lots of bumps and is in need of repair/replacement. The fairways had some weeds and bare spots while the greens were in good shape.
1 hour late tee time
Waited one hour for a cart ,past our tee time for our cart, only to have it given to another 2 some that had a tee time after us. We were not told they were having a tournament playing both 18 hole courses on the same day. Did not have enough carts to accommodate the players reserved for the day, although there was room on the course. A very poorly managed golf course. If you are having a member only or a tournament taking up space and cart, you should close course to public or golf now reservation play. No reason for me to continue. I will not be playing this course again.
Interesting but needs time
They seem to be still recovering from the effects of the last hurricane. Bunkers are not in good shape and lots of limbs down in first rough. Paths and hole sequence is a little confusing but will try again soon
Hidden gem
A great course close to Raleigh
Good layout
Greens in good shape
Bunkers are soft
