Lake at Carolina Trace Country Club

The Lake Course is probably the most challenging I’ve ever played. Course in excellent condition. Greens definitely fastest I’ve ever played! Unforgiving rough! Staff very friendly. Eric in the pro shop was very kind and welcoming. Also, spoke with another super friendly grounds crew member while I was warming up on the range.

Great layout and the course is in perfect shape. Stay below the hole or you will have a few 3 putts

Great layout and greens running a 12 easily. My only complaint is there is no drinking water available on the course. Course is in perfect shape and the pace of play was fast.

First time playing, did not get to play the 18th hole due to lightning, but this is a great course and in great shape. If you play the correct tee you will have a great time.

Beautiful golf course. Challenging but fair. One of my favorites.

Always love CT Lakes. My only issue today is that the greens were hard and extremely fast. Did not hold well struck irons and downhill putts were impossible. But beautiful and well designed layout.

This course is a cow pasture and a dump. There are no Rangers there are no starters and there are no beverage carts in the price they’re charging makes all of this a true disappointment. There’s very little grass in the fairways but the greens are the only good thing about the place hard and fast. There is not even a bag drop or a sign to let you know where to go and the pro shop expects you just to grab a car go to the parking lot and load up your own bag. Total laziness on their part. There are no marks signs to let you know where number one or number 10 is so I’m having to ask other golfers. The driving range is a small area of mats that was over ran by college kids so I could not even hit a few. The entire experience made me feel like I was in an environment where someone threw a little money at a golf course I had no idea how to run it. It is absolutely not worth the price they charge. As a matter of fact they could not pay me to come back to this crappy little dump. With so many better courses in the area please do not fall into the same trap that I did.

Upon arriving there are no signs marking where to go. There is no backdrop. There are no starters, rangers to help speed up the play, or beverage cart. Being my first time here and without direction there’s no way I could know the pro shop was downstairs in the clubhouse and when I finally found it the pro seemed put out by my comment that it was difficult to find him. Then he just gives me a key and says grab a cart and load up my things and go at noon. I had half an hour so I decided to go to the range to hit a few. The range is this tiny little area off mats there was completely full of college kids who would not give up a spot. The course layout is nothing to brag about I played the lake course. The greens were fast which I like but the fairways are all very tight lies since there’s barely any grass anywhere. The pace was terrible since apparently Saturday is when all of the retired women play who never bothered to learn proper etiquette. The point is they could not pay me to come back to this dump. The course is a cow pasture and the staff worthless. And THAT is the memory etched into my brain

Nice course but I’m not thrilled with a cost discrepancy that was notice upon arrival. I bought as a hot deal for $90/player, the person I went with was unaware that I used GolfNow. When he went in and spoke to the pro shop they told him it was $70/person before I interjected. I’m more than a little frustrated with the price difference enough so that I will now check with golf courses before booking on GolfNow and do not recommend the course based on this reason, value of customer.

The course was in great shape especially for the fall season. The course was very challenging as indicated in the slopes rating. Great views of the lake from a number of the tees.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and the coarse was well maintained. Just a great overall experience and value. Would highly recommend any one visiting the sand hills of N.C. to include this coarse as a must play. The visuals around the coarse are very tranquil. Will play again when I returned to the area.
