Lake at Carolina Trace Country Club

Nice course in great condition. Clubhouse closed at 3p, so there weren't any workers around at the end of the round. Seemed like much more member play than anyone else. Other than that, definitely worth the trip.

I like the course a lot. There is a distinct difference between the front and the back. Course can be a bear from the back tees. Elevation changes abound, especially on front side. Tight fairways, in places, felt dictatorial. Abundance of grass around the greens give lesser players opportunities to recover, There are some very good technical holes and also some strategic ones---the par-5, 14th in particular, in deciding how to play that second shot. Cool hole. The three memorable par-3's are all downhill water holes. Despite the many elevated par-4 greens, there is some decent variety in their routings. Typical of Jones, Sr. the tee shots, while fair, are also demanding. The bunker placements are dead-on for players using appropriate tees.

Staff were excellent to deal with, paid $60 which included some range balls, very nice layout with some very pretty water holes. Greens were about a 9-10 on the stimp meter, but in good shape. A good value!

Very nice course, well cared for, very friendly staff. Pace of play was way TOO SLOW. One group that was several holes ahead was holding every one up, no ranger to keep them moving, I liked it a lot but SLOW pace will discourage me from coming back.

Excellent track excellent value for your money played all 36 in one day.

Played with my wife and another couple recently and had a great experience. The course was both challenging and fair. Visually the course was special. The staff was very helpful and extremely friendly.

Upon arrival we received the most warm welcome from all staff members who went out of their way to show us around the facility. The course is a visually appealing layout with huge elevation changes and beautiful views of the lake. The pace of play was super quick and we highly recommend this course. You are treated like a valued guest, not just another paying customer. We are certain to return to this wonderful venue.

Excellent course, challenging but fun and in great condition.

Played the Lake Course at Carolina Trace for the first time in several years. It course was in superb condition and the representative in the pro shop was extremely helpful and gave a great overview. This is one of my favorite courses and highly recommended.

Love the elevation changes

Fairways a little long with some small bare spots, but generally didn’t affect play. Greens needed a mow as well and were a bit slow, but rolled true. Ran into a few groups on the back, but overall good timing right at 4 hours. Group of guys behind us hit into us multiple times when we were in plain sight.
