About
Dan Maples, architect of the nationally acclaimed Pit Golf Links, has created another masterpiece only minutes from the Village of Pinehurst. Longleaf Golf & Family Club was formerly the site of Starland Farms, for years the training ground of some of the country's top thoroughbreds. As a tribute to its colorful history, Maples incorporated some of the features and flavor of the old facility into the golf course, including part of the fence and training track. The front nine at Longleaf was designed in the Scottish open style with subtly rolling fairways. The back nine, in contrast, is heavily tree-lined and dramatically elevated. Ron Whitten of Golf Digest called Longleaf "...the most playable course in Pinehurst."

Consistent quality
Course conditions were the best I’ve played at. Cart paths are a little confusing for first time golfers. Highly recommend if you’re willing to pay for quality.
Not as good as before
I’ve played here for many years, but haven’t played it in over a year. The conditions have slipped considerably. It’s a great layout and the greens are still good but the fairways and roof are suffering and full of weeds. It’s still a great layout and fun to play, the staff is always friendly and on the ball. I’d recommend as long as you don’t pay too much.
Worth the money
This was equivalent to being a member; bag drop, pro shop, starter, bar & restaurant staff were all super welcoming and professional. As a semi-private Club, many times courses treat outsiders as an annoyance. Not here. Course is testing without being unfair and the multiple tees allow any level of player to enjoy it. The greens are its greatest feature. Fast, undulating, firm but accept a good shot well. Play it!
A real gem
Great course amongst the Pinehurst giants! Ton of fun.
5 Star
Easily one of the best courses in NC. Had some similarities to Quail
solid course
I would def play again, Nice condition and good layout. It felt like the course played longer then the card off #7 tees.
Great Spot to Play
The course is in great shape, the greens are rolling nicely, the course upgrades have taken shape. Laid back place but challenging course abd plenty of tee boxes at every skill level.
