Talamore Golf Resort
About
Resort Course at Talamore Golf Resort is a Rees Jones masterpiece that was nominated as "Best New Public Course of the Year" when opened and has become a regular stop for annual returnees to Pinehurst.
The centuries-old tradition of using llamas to help humans carry packs has been revived with a new twist at Talamore. These gentle, hardy animals can carry two bags of clubs with ease and sure-footedness. Their soft padded feet are kind to the delicate surfaces of a golf course. Known for their friendly and quiet manners, llamas make the perfect caddies. Now you can treat yourself and your friends to a truly distinctive golf experience.

Great layout..
Loved the course layout...scenic, yet challenging. New grass on tee boxes coming in nicely. Staff is very welcoming. Would definitely go back on next visit here.
Great course
Course was in great shape couple tee boxes were a little soggy. Greens were in great shape rolled true and fast. Great new layout on a couple of holes great layout overall.
Talamore Golf Club
I was looking for a course in the Pinehurst area for two couples to play that was at a reasonable price. The reviews for Talamore seemed ok and the price on Golf Now was good so we thought we would give it a try. We were greatly by a very friendly and accommodating man who took our clubs from the car. Checking in was pleasant. We planned to have lunch first. Was a little disappointed that the restaurant didn't offer a nicer food selection, but it was very nice inside.
The course had just gone through a major renovation and was just opening up after being closed for a few months. The course had a nice layout and was in ok condition. Should be nice once everything has a chance to grow in. It was crazy busy that day and play was a little slow, but it was tolerable. I would definitely recommend this course for the price.
Good course
We enjoyed the course but had to quit after 15 holes because of lightning.
Excellent Deal thru GolfNow
I made use of the Hot Deal through GolfNow to play this course - gave me excellent value for playing this course. This course "fit my eye" on most holes, yet playing the course for the first time is always tough to score when learning where not to play second and third shots from. Definitely will be going back to play again...well worth the opportunity to play this course in the Southern Pines area (close to Rt 1 and Pinehurst)
Great new greens
I have played this course several times over the years, my first time since upgrades were made, new greens, removed some fairway bunkers.
Enjoy playing this course.
New greens are the bomb!
These new greens are sweet! Been a few other course changes while they were closed. Mostly with traps. I'm definitely going back!
Worth the trip
Greens were in excellent condition there were some areas that the new turf is trying to grow into. Fairways were nice. Overall the course was in good shape.
Worth the Drive
The new greens are immaculate, there is fresh sand in the traps and the fairways and rough are well maintained. The course is more forgiving now after the removal of many sand traps. It's still quite challenging with many elevation changes. You'll have an opportunity to use all your clubs, if you select the right tee..
Great Golf Course
My dad and I played yesterday and the course was in impressive condition. The greens are new and are fast and perfect. Really enjoyed the round and enjoyed it so much we played again today.
Talamore Golf Resort Course Modifications
The course has taken out the bent grass greens and replaced them with Champions Bermuda earlier this year. Removed some bunkers and re-did others. Course is in very good condition. Fairways are wide and slopes on the greens can be challenging. A fine resort course.
Beautiful layout with great roll on greens.
This course was amazing from start to end. Greens rolled incredible, fast and true. Never saw the course before today, but the "new course" is a favorite of mine in the area. you start with a 600 yard uphill beast and end with a beautiful dog leg left with a forced 245 yard carry over water(if you take the direct route). Theyre still in the process of finishing up their renovations. I'm sure once they get all they did bunkers finished and all the new sod grows in, it will be ahstetically pleasing throughout. Even with the work going on, it was still a fantastic course.
Outstanding course improvements.
New greens and updated all the bunkers. Visually pleasing, would play this course every weekend.
Pinehurst To Play Course
Great layout. Course doing a lot of improvements but I was able to play without any problem. Played from back gold tees and hole #1 and #15 (par 3 @ 238 yds)were a challenge. 69 year old w/14 handicap I shot 89. Some shots were blind not knowing the course....would like to play again having an idea where to position tee shots. Greens and fairways were in great shape. Staff was great. Recommend to all to play.

Nice Layout
This course has a lot of good holes on it. The greens are small and well protected so bring your iron game. The pins are well protected and some of the greens have a lot of slope. The course sets up well and it allows you to hit driver on about every hole. Overall I enjoyed my round.
Well Designed Course great for $60-$75 on Hot Deals
Really enjoyed playing Talamore. A surprisingly hilly course it offers many different features. Not incredibly challenging, however, the course will certainly keep you honest. I'd highly recommend play of this course especially for paying in the $60-$75 range.
Great and interesting layout
Really enjoyed the course. Great condition for being so early in the year especially. The holes are spread apart so you feel like you are out there with just your group. Lots of risk reward shots especially 18 over the lake.
Good course to shake the winter's rust
Played there with four buddies as our first round of the season. Course was in good condition et greens rolled true. Fairways are pretty tight on some holes so you got to be precise with your driving, which is sometime tough at the beginning of the season. Some holes may look a bit similar, but par three 3rd and par four 18th are two memorable holes.
Reese Jones Notable Course Design
You quickly get the feeling that many factors should be considered for scoring well as you begin with a challenging par-5 up hill and generally against the wind. Many bunkers and other obstacles can keep you entertain until you reach the green. The practice range is well located near the club house and the no 1 tee. For early April, the greens were in very good shape (minus the practice green). The amount of sands in various bunkers tended to vary a bit. For their signature hole, no 18, just aim for the club house or a little to the right, and your ball should easily clear the water - you will be left with either a mid iron or a long iron shot to the green (avoid the bunkers by aiming right of the pin for the second shot).
