Winding Creek Golf Club

About
Winding Creek Golf Club in Thomasville is an 18-hole municipal course that is one of the most affordable rounds in the area. It is a regulation-length layout that measures 6,367 yards from the tips. The design is a true target-golf test that is player friendly enough for beginners but will also challenge more advanced players. The golf course is perched atop one of the highest points in Davidson County. From elevated tees and greens you can enjoy dramatic views as well as some intimidating shots. It's a golf course that will most likely have you using every club in your bag. Though there is plenty of variety, the course isn't too formidable for high handicappers. In addition to the golf course, Winding Creek also has a putting green and driving range that you can use for warming up.

Nice course some trouble
A little hilly greens a little slow course in good condition very busy great price nice staff a few holes that will challenge you
Round cancelled & Golf Now didn’t refund fees
We were given a siren to get off the course for lightning. Golf Now never called to the course to verify or refund our fees. Golf Now given course contact information.
pace was slow
tee time was 12:08. had to wait 20 minutes for a cart and pace was slow. 5 hours 15 minutes but we had fun
the lady at the club house grill was fantastic and had our order ready in no time
Winding creek
Great place to play for the money…friendly staff greens always on point if you’re not a fan of elevation changes this is not the spot for you
Great value
Really enjoyed playing this course as it was in very good condition. Loved the course layout with lots of elevation. Not a lot of trees, very open and forgiving for a new golfer. I played for $26.00! Great value
Weather Lighting Stopped Play
We had to stop play and could not finish our round due to lighting. The course blew a siren warning and we could hear the thunder so headed to the clubhouse. They said Golfnow would have to contact them about a rain check or refund. We have not heard from Golfnow yet but hope they honor our not being able to finish our round due to weather. Lighting was projected for the remainder of the afternoon.
Well worth the time
We haven't had a lot of rain and this course could use some. I'm not complaining, the greens were good and the fairways very adequate. Just could use some rain. Would like to replay after we get some rain. Had no trouble with pace of play and everyone was friendly.
Hard to keep pace of play when Group in front teams up and plays with 6 people. Overall fair experience
No Ranger
Course had a starter but no ranger on the course. Thus there were about 6 groups backed up behind 4 drunk red necks who could care less. 5.5 hour round was not worth 32.00
Shortage of Carts
For the low price, I didn’t expect perfection. The huge problem was a shortage of carts.! I was paired with two other golfers. The parking brake wouldn’t work on my cart, so I had to park on level ground (which was difficult to find on this hilly course) or use a small log I retrieved from the wood line. My companions’ cart was running out.of charge after 7 holes, but when we made the turn they couldn’t get a new one because there were zero carts and about 6-8 golfers waiting . I quit after 9 holes and let my companions have my deficient cart for the rest of their round.
The Fairways Need Help
Winding Creek is one of my favorite courses, but the condition of the fairways was really lacking due to the many bare spots.
Waste of time
Didn’t even get a chance to play. Waited for a cart 30+ min past our tee time. Hole one was backed up by too many groups to count and we were told it’s impossible to start on the back 9. The only positive thing I could say is they (after negotiating) gave us a full refund. I wouldn’t recommend at all
Rain has ruined the fairways
I rarely do reviews but it seemed others may want to know this. Due to the amount of recent rains the fairways are in horrible shape. I don't really know if they can even do anything now to help them. You can tell a lot of the course has drainage issues and water has been standing for some time. Hope fully in a few weeks they can recover their fairways. I play this course regularly and this is the worst condition it has ever been in.
Great layout and easy to score
The only negative is that the course don't drain well after rain and a notation needed for green aeration prior to setting tee time so people will know prior to setting times. Great course overall.
Winter Golf Clouds the review
Only played the front nine and quit due to large slow groups ahead so did not see the wooded 9.
The greens were plugged and sanded, plus had rained this week creating water filled traps. Fairways were rolling and sloped with no real landing areas lost balls on three holes with down the middle drives. I regularly play a mountain course so understand the vagaries of side slopes, but the long holes on the front rewarded being in 2 nd cut high side, at least you didn’t roll towards the creek.
I drove almost 2 hours to get her but won’t do it again.
Enjoyed everything but slow play.
Overcrowded. No starter. No ranger. 5 hrs for 18. Enjoyed the play though.
