About
Winding Creek Golf Club in Thomasville is an 18-hole municipal course that is one of the most affordable rounds in the area. It is a regulation-length layout that measures 6,367 yards from the tips. The design is a true target-golf test that is player friendly enough for beginners but will also challenge more advanced players. The golf course is perched atop one of the highest points in Davidson County. From elevated tees and greens you can enjoy dramatic views as well as some intimidating shots. It's a golf course that will most likely have you using every club in your bag. Though there is plenty of variety, the course isn't too formidable for high handicappers. In addition to the golf course, Winding Creek also has a putting green and driving range that you can use for warming up.

Challenging Course
Course knowledge is definitely key. Lots of blind shots. Great challenge
Excellent Course and Layout
Took my son to play this course today and we both really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Called in our food order on #9 and it was ready at the turn. Excellent food and snacks. Good prices. Greens were amazing. Fairways and rough was well groomed. Overall, I'd give this course for the money, an A+. Have already called several friends and told them they need to give it a round. I will certainly be back.
Nice Course
Course was in great shape. Fairways were green and smooth. Greens rolled true but were a little slower than I am used to in South Carolina. I will always place here when I visit the grandson.
Nice Course
This course is a challenge due to the ups and downs. Was told it is built on an old landfill. Fairways and greens are in great shape. I liked the layout of the course. This is not a course I would ever consider walking.
Amazing. Will play again
I was on the way to Charlotte for the weekend and stopped here to play. Mostly for price but it had decent reviews. This course far exceeded expectation and is more than worth the money we spent to play here. Will recommend and play again on future trips. Fairways and greens are in great condition.
Great job staff!
Nice Course
Curse was in great shape. Fairways were green and smooth. just a side note, this course is very hilly. Greens were awesome and the ball rolled smooth and true. a lot of uphill shots.
I would like to play this course again.
Winding Creek
The course was in great shape, however the greens were much slower than I am used to.
Pace was Awful
I fully anticipate slower pace on a day when the course is wet and it is cart path only. However, when you have to sit nearly 10 minutes between each shot on the back 9 because pace has slowed so drastically. My playing partner and I quit after 16 because we had been out there for nearly 5 hours and were tired of waiting.
There needs to be a ranger consistently going around, as well as a starter at 1. People just pull up and start playing whenever regardless of tee time.
I have loved this course since I first discovered it at the beginning of Covid. I've enjoyed watching it grow over the last 4 years and continue to succeed, but as with all things some apparent growing pains need to be addressed.
For the money it’s a pretty nice course
The staff has been taking really good care of the course. Fairways are striped, greens are kind of hit or miss tho some are fast some aren’t.
Winding creek
I quit after 15 holes and 5 1/2 hours later. This is the worst course for slow play and no rules and regulations
Just one negative
The tee times are basically irrelevant my tee time was 10:40am and I was waiting behind a 4some that had a time for 10:32 seemed normal until I heard the group of 5 teeing off 2-3 groups ahead of us tee time was 11:05? Then another group with a 10:57 teeing off as well. Just because I’m at the driving range doesn’t mean Im not gonna be at the tee box for my time it shouldn’t just be first come first serve I ended up teeing off at like 11:15 which seems kinda ridiculous considering I watch 3 groups with times after mine let ahead this is and has been my favorite course but this one issue has driven me elsewhere in the past couple weeks and again on 4/20/24 it’s just getting worse and worse
